Charities

Our Experience

We have a history grounded in charitable and philanthropic activity. In the 19th Century the Rathbone family was involved in helping to improve social welfare - from helping to establish a system of district nursing to improving industrial working conditions. In fact, a statue of William Rathbone still stands in St John’s Gardens in Liverpool as testament to the Rathbone family’s work.

Charities have entrusted their investments to us for over 100 years and we are one of the UK’s most respected discretionary investment management companies in the sector.

Our investment managers typically have 10 to 15 years’ experience working with charities – in many cases considerably more.

We are members of a number of organisations, including:

  • Charity Law Association
  • Charity Finance Directors Group
  • Institute of Legacy Management
  • Charity Investor’s Group

It is through these and other regulatory and professional bodies that we keep up-to-date with issues in the industry, allowing us to provide you with the highest quality of service.

In line with our aim of providing superior service, we run and host a number of seminars and workshops throughout the UK. We can work with your charity to develop bespoke training sessions, each individually tailored to your specific needs.

The value of your investments and the income from them may go down as well as up, and you could get back less than you invested.
