Stewardship committee

Our investment process is highly collaborative, and our approach to stewardship is no different. The stewardship committee plays a vital role in helping us meet our duties as responsible investors.

Meeting at least three times a year to discuss our policy and practice with regard to stewardship and proxy voting, the committee is formed of ten investment management professionals from across the business, including full time investment managers and members of the research team. Outside of the formal meetings, each committee member has responsibility for a number of specific companies, and must oversee the implementation of Rathbones’ voting policy for those companies.

The committee is chaired by a senior member of the investment management team, and is supported by the work of the stewardship director and the ESG & proxy voting analyst. The head of equity analysis and the head of research also sit on the committee in an observational capacity.
