An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Investment Manager to join our established Charities team at the Rathbones Head office in London. You will assist two Investment Directors in the care of a large book of client portfolios.

We are one of the leading investment managers for charities and not-for-profit organisations in the UK. We currently have £4.7 billion in funds under management for more than 1000 charities. The successful candidate will be joining a thriving team that is committed to maintaining and developing long term relationships with charities.

You will have strong analytical skills and currently be working within an Investment Management support or Assistant role. The successful candidate will train to become a fully qualified Investment Manager. 

Key responsibilities:

  • To assist the Investment Directors with the management of client portfolios and client relationships to the highest possible standard

  • Support the Investment Directors with the administration of portfolios and periodic client reporting requirements

  • Monitor and review client portfolios in line with agreed investment objectives and benchmarks

  • Direct liaison with clients on basic investment matters

Essential Skills

You will:

  • Have experience in a client orientated role within the Financial Services, Investment or Wealth Management industry

  • Hold a minimum level 4, RDR compliant qualification (Investment Advice Diploma or IMC and CFA level 1)

  • Be part way through or have completed a level 7 qualification (CISI Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification or CFA)

  • Have a keen interest in investment and investment products

  • Show strength in the use of IT systems and Excel in particular

  • Have an understanding and appreciation of the regulatory environment in which we operate

  • Have career aspirations to become an Investment Manager

  • A 2.1 or above degree (or equivalent) is desirable
