Joel Swift

Joel is an investment manager working with both charities and private clients. He joined the Greenbank team within Rathbones in August 2020 and was awarded the CISI’s Masters level Chartered Wealth Manager qualification in December 2021. He also holds the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing. Joel began his career at BDO LLP, where he spent four years as an auditor. He qualified as an ICAEW ACA Chartered Accountant in September 2019. Prior to this, he read History at Durham University, graduating in 2016.
Tim O'Sullivan

Tim is an investment specialist with over 14 years’ experience. He partners with deputies and trustees to design and manage bespoke portfolios for Court of Protection and Personal Injury clients, with a strong focus on sustainability, longevity, and capital protection.
Tim is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI and a Chartered Wealth Manager. Outside work, he maintains an active lifestyle and completed his second London Marathon in 2025.

Experience, skills and contributions
Iain was appointed as Group Chief Financial Officer on 1 January 2024. Iain served as finance director of Investec Wealth & Investment Limited (IW&I) for more than a decade and was appointed CEO of IW&I UK in February 2023. He brings to his current role his extensive knowledge of the sector along with a wealth of experience of financial and regulatory reporting, corporate governance and risk management.

Clive brings a wealth of strategic, commercial, and financial experience to the Board. He started his career as a banker at First National Bank of Boston in 1981 in Boston and London. In 1984, he joined Booz Allen Hamilton and became a partner in their financial consulting practice in 1990.
Max Wallace-Jones

I work in a team made up of portfolio managers and support personnel. The core role I undertake is the management of personal investment portfolios, personal pensions (SIPP's) and medium and smaller sized charities. I am also a member of the investment policy committee, chairing this periodically, as this committee is a key element of the asset allocation and construction of client investment portfolios.

I specialise in managing investment portfolios for families, personal pensions, trusts and charities. I enjoy meeting my clients, either at our office or at their homes, and on a regular basis which helps to form strong and lasting relationships with each of them. I take an active interest in the management of their capital, so my clients understand who makes the decisions on their behalf.
I am a Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute and hold the Securities Institute Diploma, having qualified in 1994.
Alex Young

Alex is an investment manager based in the London office. He works as part of a wider team of six investment professionals providing bespoke investment solutions for a wide range of clients and helping them to achieve their objectives. He also works closely in tandem with intermediaries, complementing their advice on matters such as wealth structuring, tax efficiency, and/or intergenerational planning.
Paul Kerr

Paul has worked in financial services since completing his degree at Queens University Belfast. He has since completed various qualifications and is a Chartered Fellow of the PFS; a Fellow of the CISI; and a Certified Financial Planner™.
Paul began working at Rathbones in 2018 and is a Financial Planning Director & Team Leader of the Belfast Financial Planning team. Paul is also Chair of NI PFS Committee.
In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his family, enjoys dining out with friends, and plays squash.
Harry Downham

Harry is a Client Services Executive assisting a Team of Investment Directors and Investment Managers, managing over £1.2bn in assets for private clients, self-invested personal pensions, and charities. Harry joined Rathbones in 2021, having previously worked as an Investment Administrator at Quilter Cheviot for over 4 years. Harry is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI), and is working towards the Level 4 Investment Advice Diploma.
Tony Milner

Tony is an investment director. He started his career in stock broking with Allied Provincial in 1987 and over a number of years worked in their Leeds, Lymington and Kendal offices before returning to Lymington to join Brewin Dolphin in 1998 where he became a divisional director. He joined Rathbones in September 2012.
Tony specialises in managing portfolios for private individuals, trusts and pension funds and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Alfie Saunders

Alfie is an assistant investment manager supporting Peter Thomson and Jason Toole with discretionary portfolio management, investment selection and client relationships. The team specialises in domestic, offshore and international clients, SEC private clients, Charitable mandates, pension schemes and trusts.
He joined Rathbones in September 2018 having graduated from the University of Brighton with a BSc (Hons) in Finance and Investment. After completing the Rathbones graduate programme in 2020 he joined the team full time.
