Rathbones appoints Anne-Marie McConnon as its first Chief Client Officer

Rathbones Group plc (“Rathbones”), one of the UK’s leading independent wealth managers and a FTSE 250 company, announced today that Anne-Marie McConnon has been appointed in a newly created role as Chief Client Officer and will be a member of the Group Executive Committee, reporting directly to Paul Stockton, Group Chief Executive Officer. She will join the company in May 2023. 

An experienced business leader, McConnon joins Rathbones from BNY Mellon Investment Management, where she held the position of Global Chief Marketing & Client Experience Officer.

Anne-Marie McConnon biography: 

Anne-Marie is an internationally experienced investment marketer, whose career spans more than 25 years. An executive leader, she has driven transformational change and is most known for innovative marketing and as a pioneer in digital, client experience and driving culture and systematic change in organisations and the industry overall.

She previously held the position of Global Chief Marketing & Client Experience Officer at BNY Mellon Investment Management (BNY Mellon IM), one of the world’s largest investment firms with over US$1.8 trillion in AUM and part of the BNY Mellon Group, a G-SIFI group that manages the custody of over US$37 trillion of financial assets. She was a member of the Global Distribution Executive and an Executive Director on the IM EMEA Board and UK fund board at BNY Mellon IM.

At BNY Mellon IM, she spearheaded game-changing initiatives, such as the donation of the boat race sponsorship to CRUK. Recently, Anne-Marie was the driving force behind the global brand strategy for BNY Mellon’s investment business and led the group’s client experience program globally. 

Prior to joining BNY Mellon IM, she held numerous senior positions at M&G Investments, including Head of Pan-European Marketing. She has been named as Investment Week’s Marketer of the Year twice.  Passionate about inclusion, she is a founding member of the Investment 2020 group (whose vision is to create a more responsible and inclusive investment industry by bringing young talent to the industry). Recently recognised as one of the Global Top 100 Executive Allies for inclusive leadership, she is also a prominent voice in the media following the launch of the global research The Pathway to Inclusive Investing in 2022 (which aims to drive change and encourage more women to invest). Anne-Marie was recently named Diversity & Inclusion Champion 2023 by the Women in Investing Awards & Investment Week.
