The built world is one of the biggest sources of global carbon emissions, but we can’t just stop living and working in buildings for the sake of tackling climate change. Indeed, a changing climate and increasing urbanisation across the world mean that demand for heating and cooling buildings is set to boom. Combatting the rise in global temperatures will require big changes in the way this is done.

The technology for heating and cooling buildings in ways that are much better for the environment has existed for a number of years, and demand for these new systems is likely to continue growing well into the future.

We take a look at what this means for long-term investors in Below zero, part of our Building Conversations video series.

You can also download our building a more sustainable future report to further explore the vital role the construction industry plays in fighting climate change.
