The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced that Julie Walters CBE, the multi-BAFTA-winning actress, will discuss her career and craft at a special ‘BAFTA A Life in Television’ event at BAFTA headquarters, 195 Piccadilly in London, on Wednesday 3 December. The event is supported by Rathbone Investment Management. ‘BAFTA A Life in Television’ is a new strand of live onstage events that will celebrate leading figures from the world of television, shining a light on their talent and their contribution to British television and culture.
Funds under management grow 6.3% to £28.9 billion

This Interim Management Statement covers the period from 1 January 2015 to 13 May 2015 and includes trading results for the three months ended 31 March 2015. At the Annual General Meeting later today, Mark Nicholls, Chairman of Rathbones, will say: “With a backdrop of reasonably favourable investment markets our total funds under management reached £28.9 billion at the end of the first quarter, up 6.3% from 31 December 2014.

Oliver Corbett, a non-executive director of Rathbone Group Plc (“Rathbones”), will today, subject to regulatory consent, join the board of Close Brothers Group plc, a company listed on the London Stock Exchange, as an independent non-executive director. Accordingly it has been agreed that also today, Oliver will step down from the Rathbones board and that James Dean (who joined the board on 1 November 2013) will, in accordance with Rathbones’ succession plan, succeed Oliver as Chairman of the audit committee.

This is a preliminary statement of annual results published in accordance with FCA Listing Rule 9.7A. It covers the year ended 31 December 2014. Mark Nicholls, Chairman of Rathbones Group Plc, said: “2014 was a challenging year for most investment markets, which became increasingly volatile in the second half. Despite this, Rathbones had another good year and achieved strong and broad-based growth. Our total funds under management grew by 23.6 % over the year to £27.2 billion and we warmly welcomed more than 5,000 new clients during the year.
