Jon Liddiard

Jon is an investment director. His clients consist of private individuals, charities, trusts and personal pensions. He is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. Jon's career started on the floor of the Stock Exchange with Greene & Co in 1981. In 1985 he joined Sheppards & Chase and remained with them for over 21 years and through several mergers until moving to Rathbones.

Jon Perree

Jon joined Rathbone Trust Company as a trust manager in 2016 and is responsible for all aspects of trust administration for a large portfolio of clients and takes a key role in working with IFAs and their respective clients.

His career started offshore in Jersey in 1997 where he dealt with international HNWI and non-domiciled UK individuals and the complex offshore structures set up to preserve their wealth. Jon moved to the UK in 2005 and has since specialised in Onshore Trust compliance and advisory work but also has experience with estate administration and personal taxation.

Jon’s excellent communication skills together with his legal, banking and accounting experience enable him to administer all types of trust and advise on a variety of different matters in trust administration. He enjoys building relationships with our clients to better understand their needs.

Jon’s qualifications include a Diploma with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Certificates of Competency from the Association of Taxation Technicians in Personal Tax and Estate Administration. Jon is currently a STEP Affiliate and is working towards full membership status.

Jonathan Brock

Jonathan joined Rathbones in 2011 and provides discretionary management for private clients, pensions, trusts and charity portfolios. He started his investment career at JP Morgan in 2007 and prior to joining Rathbones, worked at Newton assisting in the management of private client portfolios. 

Jonathan graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2007 with a 2:1 in Economics & Management and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. He holds both the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and the CISI Level 7 Masters in Wealth Management.

Jonathan is managing director of Rathbone Investment Management International. He manages a range of private client, trust and charity portfolios and for the past seven years has been included in the Citywealth Honours List, which recognises professionals in the private wealth management industry who have ‘technical expertise, trusted status, integrity and reputation’. He is also an adjunct lecturer at the Jersey International Business School. Jonathan has 34 years’ private client management experience, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and chairs the company’s Investment Committee. He joined Rathbone Investment Management International in January 2006.

Jonathan is an investment director, joining Rathbones in March 2011. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment and has been managing investments for a wide range of private individuals, trusts, SIPPs and charities since 1983. 

Jonathan originally started his city career as a jobber with Wedd Durlacher Mordaunt before moving across to stockbroking with Henderson Crosthwaite in 1983. Jonathan managed the Horsham office for Henderson Crosthwaite for a number of years before returning to London shortly before the firm merged to become Carr Sheppards Crosthwaite. He moved to Teather & Greenwood in 2001, and thereafter experienced a number of changes of ownership before resigning from BNP Paribas to join Rathbones.

Jonny Holmes

Jonny is an investment manager in the Winchester office. He joined Rathbones in summer 2019 having moved from Quilter Cheviot where he worked for eight years.

Jonny is a Fellow of the Chartered Securities Institute and is a Chartered Financial Technician (CFTe) and a member of the Society of Technical Analysts (MSTA). He and his young family are based in Southampton.

Joe holds the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and is studying towards chartered status with the Chartered Insurance Institute. He graduated from the University of the West of England with a first class honours in Economics of Money, Banking and Finance in 2014.

Prior to joining Rathbones, Joe worked for St James’s Place as an assistant adviser.

He assists with client meetings and the associated tasks as well as drafting certain pieces of advice.

Joshua Beck

Josh graduated from the University of Brighton with a BSc in Finance and Investment in 2016. After spending some time travelling and then moving to London in 2017, he joined Rathbones in 2018 assisting with the production of Investment Mandates. He now supports investment directors James Campbell-Gray and James Mayes in a trainee investment manager role.

Josh completed the Investment Advice Diploma in his first year with Rathbones and will be going on to study the Chartered Wealth Manager qualification.

Julian Chillingworth

Julian is Rathbones’ chief investment officer, and therefore plays a key role in the ongoing development of the organisation’s investment process. Prior to this, Julian was assigned board director of Rathbone Unit Trust Management in October 2001, and joined Rathbones in July 2001 as deputy chief investment director.

Julian is also a member of Rathbones’ Investment Executive Committee. He has over 30 year’s investment experience, gained within organisations such as James Capel, Global Asset Management, Bankers Trust and Investec Asset Management.

Julian is an investment director and manages a wide range of private client, family trust, personal pension and charity portfolios. Julian achieved the Securities Industry Diploma in 1997 having joined A H Cobbold & Co in 1986. In October 2010 Julian became a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

After graduating from Edinburgh University in 1994 with an MA (Hons) in Geography (2:1), Julian joined Price Waterhouse, now PWC. On qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, he then joined Rathbones in 1997. He is now also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

At Rathbones, Julian specialises in the management of charities and private clients and is head of charities in Liverpool. He sits on the Charity Asset Allocation and Stock Selection Committees. In addition he sits on the Risk Management Committee and the Group Client Committee. He is a trustee of several charities and a regular speaker at charity seminars.

Outside of work Julian enjoys keeping fit, tennis, cycling and skiing as well as a busy family life.

Julian is an investment sales executive, working on developing relationships with IFA’s. He specialises in discretionary fund management and multi-asset investment solutions for the intermediary market.

He joined Rathbones in February 2008, working initially on the advisory side of the business where he qualified as a Chartered Financial Planner, before moving across to the distribution team in January 2015.

Julian holds an LLB (Hons.) Law degree from Lancaster University.

Julian qualified as a solicitor in 1974 and has practised since then, initially as a property lawyer. He joined Rathbones in 2014 and now specialises in private client work with a particular focus on landed estates.

Julian is an executor of a number of Wills, a trustee of many trusts, and brought with him to Rathbones his own following of clients, many of whom he has advised for a number of years.

Julie Smith

Julie is an investment manager, managing investment portfolios on behalf of private clients, trusts, charities and pensions.  She is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Securities and Investment Institute, completing her Diploma in December 2007.

Julie joined Rathbones in July 2015 following nearly nine years with Brewin Dolphin and five and a half years with Aberdeen Asset Managers in trainee and investment manager roles.

As well as Julie’s CISI Diploma, her qualifications also include the Investment Management Certificate, Financial Planning Certificates 1, 2 and 3, and a Degree in Commerce.

Justin Armet

Justin is an investment director and has a broad range of investment mandates including those for private clients, SIPPs, trusts, and local charities. Justin is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland and holds the Private Client Investment Advice & Management (PCIAM) which is a CISI Level 6 qualification.

Justin started his career in investment management in 1988 with Bank of Scotland, initially as a trainee investment manager. During his time with Bank of Scotland he was also responsible for developing & marketing the service. He joined Rathbones' Edinburgh office in 2010 following the acquisition of the Bank of Scotland business from Lloyds. 

Justine Peck

Justine has a vast experience investing private client portfolios having been with Rathbones for more than 30 years. She is a respected member of our firm and sits on our Investment Executive Committee as well as the IFA Investment Committee.  She acts as regional co-ordinator for IFA relationships across the South, recognising the importance of a holistic approach to clients’ finances. 

Justine is active in the local area and as deputy head of Rathbones’ Winchester office she heads up our annual carol concert in the historic setting of Winchester Cathedral among other events. Many of Justine’s clients have invested with her for several generations and she sees her role as more than just managing investments. She is passionate about getting to know families and helping them grow over the years to meet both their investment goals and life ambitions.

Kai Johns

Kai joined the ethical research team in March 2019 after graduating from the University of Cambridge with a BA in Law. He is responsible for assessing the social and environmental performance of companies.

Kat Harrington-Milne

Kat has worked with recipients of personal injury awards for 20 years. She provides specialist advice to clients, professional and lay deputies and guardians, and trustees of personal injury awards.  Kat joined Rathbones in 2020 from Barclays Wealth. 

Kat is passionate about helping her clients, together with their legal representatives, take control of their financial future.  Her goal is to ensure every client can make informed decisions, driven by a clear understanding on how this might affect their long term financial position.  Her advice is tailored to the individual needs of each client, depending on their circumstances, as well as the nature and severity of their injuries. 

She is a Charted Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments and a Chartered Financial Planner of the Chartered Insurance Institute. Kat is working towards the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners Diploma. 

When not helping clients, Kat attempts to train her sproodle.

 

 

Kate Elliot

Kate is a senior ethical researcher for Rathbone Greenbank, responsible for assessing the social and environmental performance of companies in addition to monitoring emerging ethical themes. She also helps co-ordinate Rathbone Greenbank’s stewardship and engagement activities.

Since 2014, Kate has served on the Admissions Panel for the Social Stock Exchange, helping to assess and identify companies delivering social or environmental impact. She joined Rathbones in 2007 after graduating from the University of Bristol with a masters in Philosophy and Mathematics.

Kate Palmer

Kate is an investment manager based in the Winchester office. Her career began in London with Bordier UK (formerly Berry Asset Management) where she was responsible for managing portfolios for private clients, personal pension funds and trusts. She spent 10 years at Bordier before joining Rathbones in 2016.  

Kate is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and holds the Masters in Wealth Management. She graduated from the University of Manchester with an honours degree in Economics.

Kate works within the team as an investment analyst. She joined Rathbones in September 2012, having worked as a senior analyst at UBS. Originally from Canada, Kate has over 30 years of investment experience, both as a fund manager and an analyst, focussing for much of that time on North American equities. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Kate holds the Securities and Investment Institute, Certificate of Securities and is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charterholder.

Keith is an investment director, responsible for managing a number of portfolios for private individuals, personal pensions, trusts and charities.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and holds an honours degree in Business Studies. Prior to joining Rathbones in May 2012, Keith spent four years working as an investment manager for Williams De Broe in Edinburgh having previously worked for Gerrards and Barclays Wealth.

Kerry Clayton

Kerry is a trust manager joining Rathbone Trust Company in 1997. Kerry heads a team whose wealth of experience can provide trustees with trust taxation, inheritance tax compliance, accountancy and administration services for all types of trust funds. The team works closely with the Trust Company’s personal tax specialists to ensure beneficiaries receive the most tax efficient service possible.

Within the team there are probate specialists who can assist executors by obtaining probate, liaising with HM Revenue & Customs on all areas of tax compliance, preparing estate accounts and full administration services.

Kerry specialises in charity structures and as a charity trustee herself understands the responsibility this brings. Kerry is able to assist trustees with their compliance, including preparation of all types of charity accounts. She has many years of experience and is an Associate Member of the Association of Charity Independent Examiners. Members of her team can also help trustees with their administration, tailoring a service to suit the charity’s structure and governance.

Kerry is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (MCISI) and a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).

Kerry qualified as a solicitor in 2013, having trained with a Surrey based Legal 500 Firm of solicitors, and joined Rathbones in 2014. She advises on Wills and estate planning, powers of attorney, probate and estate administration as well as trust matters.

Kerry is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Kevin Custis

Kevin is a director of Rathbone Trust Company Limited and specialises in trust creation, administration and associated tax advice, together with long experience of estate and personal tax planning and executorship work.

Prior to joining Rathbones in 2001 Kevin was a director of Kleinwort Benson Trustees Limited and before that a trust administrator with a leading firm of solicitors and a trust accountant with a leading firm of chartered accountants in London. Kevin is a registered trust and estate practitioner, legal executive and the chair of the London Central Branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) whist serving on a number of London and nationwide STEP committees.

Kevin has been a contributing author to the Lexis Nexis Butterworth Tolley reference publications on the administration of estates and trust drafting and precedents where his subjects cover inheritance, income, and capital gains taxes, trust accounting and trust documentation. Other related positions include serving as trustee and treasurer to a number of national and local charities, and lecturing and writing on trust and estate related topics.

Kieran joined Rathbones in March 2017 in our Middle Office team having previously worked for Equiniti Financial Services as a senior transfers administrator.

He started his administrative career in 1994 and has worked in various administration roles throughout his career.

Kieran lives in Kent with his partner and two young sons. In his spare time he plays in a local pool league and is a keen follower of football.

Kindar joined Rathbones in 2019 with over 20 years’ experience.

Kindar is one of a relatively small number of advisers in the UK to hold both the Chartered Financial Planner designation from the Personal Finance Society and the internationally recognised Certified Financial Planner Certification from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. She is also a qualified financial neutral through Consensus Collaboration Scotland which allows her to act in collaborative divorce cases.

Kindar is very experienced in providing clients with a holistic financial planning service including advice on matters such as tax efficient wealth structuring, retirement income planning, inheritance tax and estate planning. She has a particular interest in cashflow modelling and providing clients with the peace of mind to live their lives the way they want, unburdened by financial worries. Kindar is passionate about the benefits financial planning can offer clients and she truly enjoys being involved in a clients’ financial planning journey and the peace of mind it can bring.

Kirsten Douglas

Kirsten assists Andy Pitt and Gareth Pearl with the administration of charity portfolios. She joined Rathbones early in 2017, after previously working for JP Morgan for over 10 years in client services.

Kirsten graduated from Edinburgh University with a BA (Hons) degree in Business Management.

Kirstie McKeown

Kirstie joined Rathbones in February 2013 to assist in establishing the Newcastle office. Previously she spent over 25 years working for Lloyds Private Banking and Lloyds TSB Independent Financial Advisers. Kirstie is part of the specialist personal injury and Court of Protection team at Rathbones and has advised deputies and trustees in this area for over a decade.

Kirstie qualified as a Chartered Financial Planner in 2007 and became a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society in 2008.  She specialises in the provision of holistic financial planning to high-net-worth individuals.
