Ivo Darnley
Managing director
London Ivo.Darnley@rathbones.comIvo is responsible for the specialist teams, which include our Investment Office, Research and Front Office Investment Risk teams. In addition, he leads our Charities & Greenbank colleagues. Ivo joined Rathbones after graduating from Edinburgh University in 1991 and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. He founded the charity team in London and managed portfolios as an investment manager for almost 30 years. He was appointed to the Rathbone Investment Management Committee in 2006 and joined the Group Executive Committee in July 2015.
Andy Pitt
Head of Charities
London Andy.Pitt@rathbones.comAndy graduated from Exeter University with a first class honours degree in Chemistry and Law, and subsequently spent three years as a solicitor in the corporate finance team at Freshfields in the early 1990s.
Andy joined Rathbones in June 2014 following his previous role as head of charities at Newton Investment Management. Andy has also worked at Schroder Investment Management and UBS Wealth Management, and during his career has managed investment portfolios for a wide variety of charities and other not-for-profit organisations, as well as individuals, trusts and corporates.
Andy is a visiting lecturer at the Cass Business School (Centre for Charity Effectiveness), and an external member of the Investment Committee of the Dunhill Medical Trust. He is also an Associate Member of the CFA Society of the UK (ASIP) and a Chartered Fellow of the CISI (FCSI). Andy is a keen sportsman with interests in skiing, horses and tennis, whilst enjoying time spent in the garden and with his family.

Liverpool Julian.Rathbone@rathbones.comAfter graduating from Edinburgh University in 1994 with an MA (Hons) in Geography (2:1), Julian joined Price Waterhouse, now PWC. On qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, he then joined Rathbones in 1997. He is now also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
At Rathbones, Julian specialises in the management of charities and private clients and is head of charities in Liverpool. He sits on the Charity Asset Allocation and Stock Selection Committees. In addition, he is Head of the North and sits on the Group Client Committee. He is a trustee of several charities and a regular speaker at charity seminars.
Fiona Gillespie
Head of charities, Scotland
Edinburgh Fiona.Gillespie@rathbones.comFiona joined Rathbones in October 2019 following her previous role as a senior investment manager at Anderson Strathern Asset Management. Previous to that, Fiona spent 24 years at Edinburgh Fund Managers and then Aberdeen Asset Management following their acquisition, where she had principal responsibility for managing multi asset mandates for Charity clients.
Fiona is an Associate of the Society of Investment Professionals, and Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment.
She sits as a Trustee of Medical Research Scotland, Trustee of the Stafford Trust and Treasurer/Trustee of the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO). Fiona is also a member of the Future Asset Steering Committee. Until recently, Fiona was also non-executive director of Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) for over 6 years, stepping down in June of 2020.
Natalie Yapp

London natalie.yapp@rathbones.comNatalie joined Rathbones in 2020 as head of business development, charities, following her previous role as business development manager at Brewin Dolphin. Natalie has also worked at Heartwood Investment Management and specialises in charities, trust and other not-for-profit organisations.
Natalie is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI). She holds a master's degree in Drama and Movement Therapy and achieved the Investment Management Certificate in 2016. She also holds an MBA from Cranfield School of Management. Natalie is also an ambassador for Girls are Investors and a Girl Guiding leader.

London Melanie.Wotherspoon@rathbones.comMelanie joined Rathbones in 2014 after spending the previous seven years at Jupiter. Prior to that, she was at Baring Asset Management, Deutsche Morgan Grenfell and EY. She gained international experience working for HSBC in Hong Kong, San Francisco and Mumbai. Melanie is a Chartered Accountant, has a degree in Systems and Management from City University, London and is a Chartered Member of the CISI. She is both a trustee and member of the Investment Committee for the Francis C Scott Charitable Trust that commits over £1m a year to areas of deprivation in Cumbria and North Lancashire. Melanie is also a member of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants.
Adrian Maxwell

Liverpool Adrian.Maxwell@rathbones.comAdrian joined Rathbones in 2004 after graduating from the University of Liverpool with an honours degree in Financial Economics.
He specialises in the management of portfolios for charities, as part of Rathbones’ charity team, as well as managing private clients’ assets including ISAs, SIPPs and trusts.
Adrian is a CFA charterholder (Chartered Financial Analyst) as well as a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI). He is a member of Rathbones group Stock Selection Committee and chairs the Charity Fixed Income and Collectives Committee.
Alex Dow

London Alexander.Dow@rathbones.comAlex is an investment director, he has a joint honours degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from UEA. Alex is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments, holding the Diploma, and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
Prior to joining Rathbones in December 2007, Alex worked at HSBC Investments (formerly James Capel) for eight years managing investment portfolios for charities and private clients. At HSBC Alex was a member of the UK Stock Committee and specifically covered the engineering, aerospace and defence sectors.
Alex Turnbull
Investment director
London Alex.Turnbull@rathbones.comAlex is an investment director, his main focus is in managing assets for the not for profit, pension and corporate sector with a bias towards structuring segregated asset portfolios. He has particular expertise in corporate debt and equities, and where possible has a preference for direct investment of these asset classes. He chairs the Charity Asset Allocation and Stock Committee and also sits on the UK Equity and Fixed Income Committee for the Investment Management division of Rathbones.
Alex is Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute and holds the Securities Institute Diploma, having qualified in 1989. Prior to joining Rathbones in 2008, he spent 20 years at HSBC Global Asset Management (formerly James Capel) where he was responsible for developing and leading the successful Charity division.
Amos Nelson

Bristol Amos.Nelson@rathbones.comAmos works closely with James Fox in the management of investment portfolios for private clients, charities and self-invested personal pensions.
He is a graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Bristol and currently holds the Masters in Wealth Management and the Investment Management and Financial Planning Certificates.
Amos is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and sits on our Collectives Research Committee.
Andrea Hanley

Glasgow Andrea.Hanley@rathbones.comAndrea joined Rathbones in April 2015 as an investment manager and specialises in the management of charities and private clients as well as looking after pension and trust portfolios.
Andrea started her career with Brewin Dolphin in April 2004 and has achieved her Diploma in Investment Compliance and her Private Client Investment Advice and Management qualification. She is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (FCSI).
Andrea is an ambassador for Rathbones Financial Awareness training, speaking to children and young adults to provide an insight into the wider world of money and personal finance as well as an overview of the investment management industry.
In addition, she is a keen supporter of the Beatson Cancer Charity, undertaking fund-raising activities and volunteers as a support carer for South Lanarkshire Council.
Andrew Zazzi

Liverpool Andrew.Zazzi@rathbones.comAndrew is an investment director with the Rathbone’s charities team based at our Liverpool office. He has extensive knowledge and experience of helping private individuals, charities and not for profit organisations to achieve their long term financial objectives throughout a career spanning 20 years working within the investment management industry.
Andrew began his career after graduating from the University of Manchester with a degree in Middle Eastern Studies, joining Gerrard Investment Management Ltd in 2002 where he qualified as an investment manager. He subsequently became a charity investment advisor with Barclays Wealth at their Birmingham office before joining Rathbones in 2019.
Andrew is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and has held their full CISI Diploma since 2003.
Elliot Bancroft

London Elliot.Bancroft@rathbones.comElliot joined Rathbones’ charity team in 2016 from Investec Wealth & Investment, where he spent eight years as an investment manager in the charities team. He has over 15 years' experience of advising and managing private client portfolios and charity investments. As a trustee and treasurer of Shaftesbury Young People, a charity dedicated to the lives of young and disadvantaged children, and a founding trustee of a Chinese arts-based charity, Elliot brings a wealth of experience and insight to helping charities achieve their future growth goals.
Elliot has a BSc in Robotics and Control Engineering and a masters in International Finance from ICMA Business School, Reading University. He successfully completed his Securities Diploma in 2007.
Euan MacDonald
Investment director
Edinburgh euan.macdonald@rathbones.comEuan graduated from the University of Strathclyde with an MSc in Finance before joining Barclays Private Bank working in London, Geneva and latterly in Scotland. He joined Rathbones in 2014 and specialises in the management of charities and private clients. Euan is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charter holder, a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and holds the Investment Management Certificate. He sits on Rathbones Developed Market Equity Committee and is responsible for the research of European investments.
Euan is a guest speaker at Scottish Universities, focusing on the topics of stock analysis, sustainability and corporate governance. In addition, he runs open days for students interested in working in the investment management industry.
He sits on the Scottish Council of the Outward Bound Trust and as an active fell runner promotes the benefits of outdoor pursuits in the development of young people.
Eve Sneddon

Glasgow Eve.Sneddon@rathbones.comEve joined Rathbones in July 2019 following the acquisition of Speirs & Jeffrey having previously worked at BNP Paribas in Glasgow.
Eve studied at the Poznan School of Banking in Poland where she gained a master’s degree in finance. While studying for her degree she took part in European exchange programs for students allowing her to study in Berlin and complete her internship in the UK.
Before joining the charity team in 2021, Eve worked as a client service executive, during which time she obtained the Investment Advice Diploma and a Chartered Wealth Manager qualification. She is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).
Freddy Snowden

London Freddy.Snowden@rathbones.comFreddy is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments. He assists James Pettit and Alex Turnbull in managing client portfolios on a day to day basis. Freddy sits on the Charities Global Equities Stock Selection Committee as well as the Charity Fixed Income and Managed Funds Committee. Freddy is also a member of the Rathbones diversity taskforce.
Prior to joining Rathbones in 2018, Freddy spent two and a half years at Hargreave Hale as an investment manager’s assistant working with private clients, trusts and charities.
In his studies Freddy attained a BSc. Hons. in Physical Geography from Newcastle University.
Gareth Pearl

Gareth joined Rathbones in 2015 from Quilter Cheviot. Prior to this, he graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2012 with a BA (Hons) degree in Politics. He is a member of Rathbones’ Portfolio Construction Committee and Engagement Committee.
Gareth is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI (FCSI) and obtained the Masters in Wealth Management in 2014. He has passed the CISI Professional Assessment in Sustainable and Responsible Investment. He has attended the Cass Business School “Charity Investment – Theory and Practice” course, the leading investment course for charities in the UK. Gareth is a governor of a primary school in East London.
Georgina Hand

Winchester Georgina.Hand@rathbones.comGeorgina is an investment director, looking after portfolios for private clients, their personal pension funds and trusts. She specialises in charity investment management and, in addition to running local Trustee training events, is an experienced Trustee herself. She is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Georgina graduated from Newcastle University in 1999 and spent a short time working for Rowe Price Flemings as a research assistant. She joined Rathbones in 2000 as a graduate trainee, became an associate director in 2005 and an investment director in 2008.
Ian Tansley
Regional director
Birmingham Ian.Tansley@rathbones.comIan is a regional director and specialises in managing bespoke investment portfolios on behalf of private individuals, charities, trusts and pension funds. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment and holds an honours degree in Accounting and Finance.
Ian has over 20 years' experience in the investment management industry. During his career Ian has forged strong working relationships with a range of national and Midlands based firms of intermediaries including solicitors, accountants and independent financial advisors.
Before joining Rathbones’ Birmingham office, as an investment director in October 2010 Ian worked as a director of Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management, formerly Tilney Investment Management.
James Codrington

London James.Codrington@rathbones.comJames is an investment director, joining Rathbones from Barings where he was head of charities for nine years. He focused upon absolute return mandates and managed the Targeted Return Common Investment Fund, one of the fastest growing charity funds in recent years. James previously worked at Deutsche Asset Management, Lazard Brothers and Teather & Greenwood, all in charity investment roles. From 1988 to 1994 he served in the British Army.
James has an MA (First Class) in Modern History from Oxford University, has written numerous articles on absolute return in the charity press and is a regular speaker at charity events and investment conferences.
James Garbutt

Newcastle James.Garbutt@rathbones.comJames joined Rathbones from UBS Wealth Management where he was a director in the Newcastle office. He has 20 years investment industry experience and prior to joining UBS in 2005, he worked at Gerrard Investment Management.
James specialises in the management of charities, pension funds and trust portfolios. He sits on the Rathbone Collectives Committee and has particular responsibility for research and selection of global equities funds for the group.
James holds a master's degree from University of Northumbria, the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI) Diploma and is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI. He is also vice-chair of Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums Development Trust.
James Parry

London James.Parry@rathbones.comJames joined Rathbones’ charity team in 2021 as an assistant investment manager, supporting Elliot Bancroft and Olivia Marlow in the running of their client portfolios. Prior to Rathbones, James spent three years as an analyst for the multi-family office, Artorius Wealth, working with ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families. At Artorius, he was a member of the investment advisory team specialising in thematic equities and led the company’s philanthropic and next generation offering.
James graduated from the University of Bristol in 2018 with a first-class degree in Politics and International Relations. He holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and is studying towards his CFA charter.

James joined Rathbones in January 2008 as an investment manager. Prior to joining Rathbones, James worked at HSBC Investments for four years, specialising in the management of portfolios for charities and other not-for-profit organisations. At HSBC James was a member of its Investment Trust Committee, covering Asia and emerging markets. Prior to HSBC, James worked at State Street Global Advisors, the investment management arm of State Street Corporation. James sits on the Collectives Research Committee at Rathbones, covering infrastructure funds.
Jane Wilcock

She graduated in 1998 with an honours degree in Economics from Nottingham University and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and a Chartered Wealth Manager.
She trained at Tilney in Liverpool, managing portfolios for private clients, trusts, pensions and charities, before moving to Brown Shipley & Co, where she became a voting member of the firm’s Investment Policy Committee, providing equity research and guidance for the wider firm, and was involved in managing the in-house UK equity funds.
Jane joined Barclays’ portfolio management team in 2008 where she became a specialist in managing bespoke and ethical portfolios on behalf of Charity clients, and was a voting member of Barclays UK Equity Committee and the Charity Investment Committee.
Libby Barrett

London Elizabeth.Barrett@rathbones.comLibby joined Rathbones in 2012, after graduating from Bristol University with a first class honours degree in Chemistry. She is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, having obtained the Investment Advice Diploma, and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
Libby specialises in managing the investments and administration of charity and private client portfolios. Within Rathbones she sits on the Developed Equities Committee, specialising in the selection of North American funds. Libby is a trustee in her own right.
Olivia Marlow

London olivia.merrick@rathbones.comOlivia is an investment Director on the charity team at Rathbones, where she joined from Investec Asset Management. She is an Associate of the CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment) having obtained the Investment Advice Diploma, and is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charterholder.
Olivia graduated from Exeter University with a BSc Hons in Economics and Politics, and currently sits on the Charity Stock Selection Committee at Rathbones, as well as the Stewardship Committee.
Stephen Hall

Glasgow Stephen.Hall@rathbones.comStephen has over twenty-five years of investment experience. He joined Speirs & Jeffrey in January 2013 and arrived with Rathbones following the integration of S&J in 2019. In addition to managing investments for individuals Stephen forms part of the Rathbones Charities Team managing portfolios for charity and trust clients.
Stephen’s earlier investment career was in institutional fund management working as an investment director at Scottish Widows Investment Management and before that an investment manager at Britannic (now Abrdn) Asset Management. Over this period Stephen specialised in Japanese and Asian equities prior to forming part of a global equity team with responsibilities for the financial sectors.
After graduating from Heriot-Watt University with an honours degree in Economics, Stephen completed postgraduate studies in Investment Analysis at Stirling University. Stephen is a member of the Chartered Financial Analysts Society of the UK and a Chartered Fellow of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

London Victoria.Hoskins@rathbones.comVictoria joined Rathbone Greenbank in 2015 from Barclays where she was senior director for the London Charity team. From 2007-2010, she was regional investment director for London and the South East responsible for the Gerrard Investment Management business, equating to £2 billion of private client, charity, pension and Court of Protection portfolios. Victoria began her city career with Capel Cure Myers in 1998.
She has over 20 years' experience in providing and managing investment solutions for charity and pension fund trustees. Victoria is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI (FCSI) and an advisor to the Stroke Association Investment Committee, Co-opted Trustee for the Edward Gostling Foundation and a former trustee for the Lankelly Chase Foundation, an early adopter of the UNPRI, latterly chairing the Investment Committee.
Victoria Walker

She joined Rathbones in 2008 following completion of her BA (Hons) degree in Business Studies from the University of Liverpool. Prior to joining the charity team in 2016, she was the assistant manager for Performance Measurement.
Victoria is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI) having achieved the CISI level 7 Chartered Wealth Manager qualification in 2014.
