Max joined the firm in September 2008. An experienced Chartered Financial Planner, Max is passionate about helping clients achieve their financial and personal objectives.  This can range from tax-efficiently building a portfolio for retirement, to suitably provisioning for children’s education or analysing the affordability of lifetime gifts via a measured estate planning strategy. The majority of Max’s clients are time poor and he aims to provide the peace of mind that their financial planning needs are under control and being taken care of.  He mainly looks after clients at Deloitte, EY, Simmons & Simmons, other leading London based firms as well as entrepreneurs and those who have reached retirement.  In his spare time, Max’s main focus is his wife and two children. He also enjoys playing golf, travelling and coaching football for children.

Angus joined Rathbones Investment Management as Regional Director for the Glasgow office in May 2015 and became Head of Scotland, at Rathbones, in June 2021. Angus has over 25 years’ experience in the wealth management sector, attending to the needs of individuals, trusts, charities, and pension schemes.

Angus is a Chartered Wealth Manager and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments. In satisfying his clients financial requirements he draws drawing upon his extensive private client investment management experience having worked exclusively in this specialist area for Greig Middleton, Murray Johnstone, Aberdeen Asset management and Brewin Dolphin. He is involved personally in several charitable and personal trusts and believes that exceptional client service develops long and lasting relationships.

Angus is married with 3 daughters and enjoys being their taxi service, walking his dog, Pepper, and every now and then hitting a golf ball.

Scott is an Assistant Investment Manager in the London Investment Management team at Rathbones. Having graduated from Heriot-Watt University with an MA (Hons) degree in International Business Management, he completed an MSc in Real Estate: Investment and Finance prior to joining Rathbones in 2018.

Scott is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI), he has completed his Investment Advice Diploma and obtained the PCIAM certificate.

Scott is an Assistant Investment Manager in the London Investment Management team at Rathbones. Ian joined Rathbones in 2016 as Head of Rathbones Private Office with a focus on serving larger high net worth clients including entrepreneurs, families and successful individuals looking for tailored investment management services. In July 2019 he was appointed to a wider role of Head of Client Development with responsibility for delivering the optimal Rathbones investment solutions to our clients including portfolio management, financial planning, trusts and international services. Following our merger with Investec wealth management, he has in addition been asked to lead the Strategic partnership with Investec bank offering their lending solutions to our wealth management clients and our investment solutions to the Bank’s clients.

Prior to joining Rathbones, he was head of UK domestic private banking at Credit Suisse and head of UK ultra high net worth clients at UBS. He is level 6 PCIAM qualified and studied modern history at Queen’s College Oxford University.

Having graduated from Northumbria University with a First Class Honours degree in Business Studies Gail began her career at Brewin Dolphin within their Newcastle office. She moved to London in 2007 where she completed the Investment Management Certificate and the CISI Diploma in Investment Management and she is now a Chartered Fellow of the CISI. Gail works predominantly with Glenn Ashby where her focus is managing portfolios for private individuals as well as clients of Financial Advisers. 

In her spare time Gail enjoys spending time in the great outdoors and running, having completed a number of half marathons.

He is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, having passed the CISI Certificate in Private Client Investment Advice and Management (PCIAM) with distinction. In addition, he holds the Diploma in Financial Planning from the Chartered Insurance Institute. In his spare time, he runs courses helping candidates preparing for their CFA exams.

Joel began his finance career in 2005 as a commercial wealth manager with HSBC in Leeds and Jersey. In 2010 he moved to Barclays Bank Offshore, and was responsible for the management of the Barclays ‘International Funds’ discretionary portfolios for international clients, trusts and charities. Joel moved to Smith & Williamson in 2015 as a senior portfolio manage and joined Rathbones at the start of 2019.
