William graduated from Durham University with an honours degree in Classics and a master's in Economics. He joined Bestinvest in 2000 as an investment adviser rising to investment manager and team leader. William then joined Jupiter Asset Management in 2008 to become an investment director in the Private Client and Charities department and joined Rathbones in 2014 following their acquisition of Jupiter’s Private Client department.

Throughout his career, William has focussed on private clients and charities, notably high net worth families, managing a wide range of investment portfolios and mandates such as those for individuals, trusts, SIPPs, charities and offshore accounts.

William is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI) and holds the CISI Diploma, which is a level 6 qualification. William lives in the country with an ever-expanding family and enjoys all that this brings. He particularly enjoys skiing, surfing and golf when he finds the time.

Andrew is an investment director with over 25 years’ experience of managing discretionary investment portfolios for private individuals, their pensions and family trust structures. He also manages investments for charities including a City Livery Company.

After graduating from Durham University, Andrew joined the City stockbroking firm of Laurence Keen and qualified as a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. Laurence Keen was acquired by Rathbones in 1998.

Andrew is an investment director with over 25 years’ experience of managing discretionary investment portfolios for private individuals, their pensions and family trust structures. Stuart started his career in 2003 at JPMorgan Cazenove (formerly Cazenove) within Corporate Dealing Services trading options for FTSE 100 and 250 companies, joining Rathbones in 2010.

Stuart has a BA (Hons) English degree from the University of Southampton and the CISI Chartered Wealth Manager qualification, previously the Masters in Wealth Management. He also holds the CISI Diploma in Investment Advice and is a Fellow of the CISI.

Stuart primarily focuses on asset allocation modelling and risk management and is responsible for UK and international discretionary private client portfolios.

He is a member of the international team which was the winner of ‘Best International Discretionary Fund Manager’ for 2017, 2018 and 2019 and is responsible for the research, selection and ongoing monitoring of bespoke investment solutions.

Stuart is also a trustee for The Rathbone Group Foundation.

James completed the CFA Program in June 2010, having previously obtained the SII Diploma. He is a member of both the CFA Institute and CISI. He also holds a masters in Mathematics from the University of Warwick.

James moved to Rathbones in May 2010 having previously been an assistant vice president at Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management, formerly Tilney Investment Management. He has been in the industry since his graduation in 2005.

Libby joined Rathbones in December 2021 as a Trainee Investment Manager and was promoted to an Assistant Investment Manager in 2023. Libby works alongside Amos, assisting in managing portfolios.


She has a first-class degree in Psychology from the University of Bristol and worked at Hargreaves Lansdown before joining Rathbones. Libby has completed the CISI Investment Advice Diploma and is currently working towards the Chartered Wealth Management qualification.

Iain began his career in investment management in 2002 with Bank of Scotland Portfolio Management Service where he rose to the position of investment manager before joining Rathbones' Edinburgh office in 2010 following the acquisition of the Bank of Scotland business from Lloyds.

Tom is the CEO of Rathbones Asset Management, having joined us in March 2022 as chief investment officer. Tom has over 25 years’ experience in the industry and joined from Sanlam UK where he was head of asset management.

Tom spent much of his career as a fund manager with M&G and Schroders before co-founding the investment boutique FOUR Capital Partners, which was then bought by Sanlam. Tom is also Chartered Accountant, having worked at Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers).

Tom is the CEO of Rathbones Asset Management, having joined us in March 2022 as chief investment officer. After obtaining his qualifications at Tilney, Stuart took a year out travelling around the world before returning to work at Charles Stanley in Edinburgh. He returned to Glasgow and joined Speirs and Jeffrey in 2003. Speirs and Jeffrey was fully integrated with Rathbones in July 2019.
