Jake joined Rathbones in 2020.  He spearheads the client development activities across the North of England and the Midlands, delivering discretionary portfolio management services to private clients, charities and trusts. He is also responsible for developing and managing intermediary relationships.

Jake started his career in finance at Lombard Street Research before moving into the private client investment world with Border Asset Management in Cumbria.  He joined Rathbones after 7 years working for Aberdeen Standard Capital (formerly Standard Life Wealth) following the acquisition of Newton Investment Management's private client arm in 2013.  

Jake is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Paola joined Rathbones in January 2020 to head up the engagement with entrepreneurs.

Previously Paola worked for the  London Stock Exchange Group where she led the community of entrepreneurs and the Private Market,  connecting companies with capital. Paola also ran EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Award and she set up and ran a programme for the Department of International trade aimed at helping foreign graduates to set up their businesses in the UK providing access to capital, mentoring and business advises.

Paola is a mentor and a regular contributor for RisingWISE, a combined initiative of Cambridge and Oxford University supporting women in STEM who have aspirations to become entrepreneurs.

Bryn is the head of fixed income for Rathbones and is lead manager on the Rathbone Ethical Bond Fund and the Rathbone Strategic Bond Fund. He joined Rathbones in November 2004 from Merrill Lynch, where he managed $2 billion of fixed income assets.

Bryn is a member of the Rathbone Strategic Asset Allocation Committee, non-executive chairman of Rathbones' Fixed Income Committee, and an adviser to the Rathbone Banking Committee. He is a WMA representative for the HMT DMO’s (His Majesty’s Treasury - Debt Management Office) Gilt market consultation process. Bryn appears regularly on CNBC and Bloomberg TV. He also sits on the IA Fixed Income Committee.

Bryn graduated from Birmingham University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography in 1995. Bryn’s Rathbone Ethical Bond Fund was awarded Best Sterling Corporate Bond Fund at the Morningstar UK Fund Awards 2014 and 2016; Best SRI Bond Fund at the Money Observer 2015, 2016 and 2017 Fund Awards; the Rathbone Ethical Bond Fund is also a top performer in the Bond Pound Sterling – Corporates sector over three and five years in the UK (Lipper Fund Award 2015) and was ‘Highly Commended’ at the 2015 Moneywise Awards. His Rathbone Strategic Bond Fund was voted best Multi-Asset Fixed Income Strategy at the Investment Week Specialist Investment Awards 2015 and was highly commended in 2016. Winner of the Judges Choice Fixed Income award 2018 – Investment Week Fund Manager of the Year awards. Elizabeth is Rathbone Investment Management’s co-chief investment officer.  Working alongside Edward Smith, she has joint responsibility for Rathbones’ research department, the evolution and performance of its investment process and its responsible investment philosophy. Day- to-day, she focuses on overseeing equity and fund selection, stewardship and ESG integration, research implementation and operations. She is also a member of Rathbones’ Investment Executive Committee.

Elizabeth joined Rathbones in 2005 and previously worked at Progressive Alternative Investments, a fund of hedge funds. Elizabeth graduated from Newcastle University and holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation and the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing.

Iain works alongside Nick Roe-Ely in the management of investment portfolios for private individuals, pensions, trusts and charities. He is a member of the firm’s Adviser Specialist Group and contributes to the Rathbones investment process through his position on the Overseas Equities Committee.

A graduate of the University of Liverpool with a BA (Hons) degree in Modern History and Politics, Iain began his career with BNY Mellon working with institutional clients in its asset servicing division before moving to Rathbones in 2015.

Iain is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and has been awarded the level 7 CISI Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification. He also holds the CFA Investment Management Certificate and the CISI Investment Administration Qualification.

Edward is Rathbone Investment Management’s co-chief investment officer. Alongside Elizabeth Savage, he has joint responsibility for Rathbones’ research department, the evolution and performance of its investment process, and its responsible investment philosophy. Day-to-day, he focuses on asset allocation and macroeconomic research, risk analytics, fixed income and currency, business development and external communications. He is the Chair of the Strategic Asset Allocation Committee, co-Chair of the Sector Selection and Portfolio Construction Committees, and a founding member of the Responsible Investment Committee. Edward presents frequently to clients and the media on the economic and financial market outlook. He is a regular guest on Bloomberg TV and Sky News.

Prior to this appointment he was Rathbones’ Head of Asset Allocation Research. He joined Rathbones in 2014 from Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management, where he was global strategist and co-lead manager of their Risk Enhanced Multi-Asset Portfolio service. He began his career at Blackrock.

Edward is a Chartered Financial Analyst, and has served on the continuing education committee of CFA UK, for whom he has also helped write position papers, most recently Chairing the working group on the future of Corporate Financial Reporting. He is a published expert on risk management for high net worth individuals, and is a member of the Society of Professional Economists. He has an MA from the University of Oxford and an MSc with distinction in Economic History from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Ashley comes from an HR/L&D background, having worked in the industry for three years as an apprentice for a boutique executive search firm before moving into financial planning in 2019. He completed his diploma in 2020 and moved into a paraplanner role shortly after, assisting advisers with research and writing client reports.

He moved to Manchester in October 2021 and enjoys experiencing everything that the city has to offer. He loves travelling, boxing, fashion and houses with a particular interest in renovations. Ashley also cherishes his time with his family and likes to keep an active lifestyle. 

He aims to progress through Rathbones and develop into a cohesive and capable financial planner. His day-to-day role involves supporting planners through the client advice journey and helping build and maintain quality client relationships, all whilst working towards chartered status and gaining competency.

James graduated with first class honours in Agri-Business Management from the University of Newcastle. He holds the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and is working to towards becoming a Chartered Financial Planner. 

James began his Financial Planning career in 2018. Originally from Cambridge, Crea joined Rathbones in 2021 after three years working as a Financial Planner at a wealth management firm in Edinburgh. Clive Hexton is an investment director with 25 years experience in private client fund management.  He has been actively involved in the management of portfolios for larger complex family structures, including the management of bespoke family funds, and accordingly is also a director of Rathbone Unit Trust Management (Rathbone Funds).

Clive is a member of the Rathbone Investment Management Investment Executive Committee. He is also on Rathbones' committees for Strategic Asset Allocation and UK Stock Selection. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and has an honours degree from London University.

Clive joined Rathbones in 2000, prior to which he spent 15 years at Kleinwort Benson. Throughout this period he was actively involved in the research and stock selection process, was deputy chief investment officer and in his earlier years was research manager for the oil, gas, utility and pharmaceutical sectors. Prior to his career in the financial services, Clive served a three year commission with the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.
