This involves providing a pro-active personalised service to first understand our client’s life goals and motivations, then building a tailored financial plan to achieve. I aim to provide peace of mind for our client’s financial futures and my focus is on building long-term relationships that can help our clients navigate their way through various challenges including:


• Accumulating wealth tax efficiently by making use of appropriate tax allowances.
• Building long term forecasts to help clients understand when they can achieve certain goals such as retirement, gifts or property purchases.
• Helping our clients draw tax efficiently from their assets in the decumulation phase.
• Helping our clients understand how and when they can pass assets on tax efficiently to their loved ones.
• Sensible estate planning with a view of mitigating inheritance tax.

I have also recently been recognised with an individual nomination in the 2025 CityWealth awards. In my spare time I enjoy travelling, playing and watching various sports including football, rugby and padel as well as spending time with friends and family in Hertfordshire.

As an Ethical, Sustainable and Impact Researcher, Charlie is responsible for analysing investments against a range of environmental, social and governance criteria, as well as for conducting thematic research into key responsible investment issues. Charlie also supports on Greenbank’s engagement and stewardship initiatives, with a specialism in nature-related issues.

Kirsty has over 20 years’ experience in the industry starting with Greig Middleton (now Barclays Wealth) in Glasgow in 2000. She builds good client relationships through a friendly and straightforward approach.

Kirsty joined Rathbones in February 2024 as part of the merger with Investec Wealth & Investment having previously spent more than 17 years at RBC Brewin Dolphin in Birmingham. She has an undergraduate degree from the University of Aberdeen and postgraduate degree from the University of Strathclyde.

Ian joined Rathbones as a client service executive in April 2020 as part of the acquisition of the Barclays Wealth Court of Protection team.

Prior to joining Rathbones, Ian worked for Barclays for eight years in various roles in their Retail and Wealth divisions. Since joining Rathbones, Ian has continued to provide support to our clients and their deputies/trustees. Ian is currently studying for the CISI Investment Advice Diploma with the hope of offering ever greater support to our clients.

Outside of work, Ian enjoys spending time with his family and two cats whilst watching a copious amount of films and the NFL (when it’s in season).

Michael graduated with full honours from St Andrew’s University having studied Applied Physics and Astrophysics, and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI).

Michael also enjoys munro-bagging and being outdoors.

James started his career in 2008 working for Lloyds TSB Private Banking in Exeter as an investment reviewer. In 2010 he moved to London and worked briefly as an associate equity dealer before joining Smith & Williamson in 2011. James joined Rathbones as an investment manager in 2014.

James works in a successful team alongside Peter Lowe and three further investment managers. James and the team manage in excess of £1.6bn across a range of portfolios, including a broad range of investment mandates for individuals, trusts, pension funds (both SIPPs and SSASs) and charities.

James has a young family and likes to get out on his bike exploring the Cotswolds where he lives.
