Informing us of the death of a client
Assessing, managing and finalising the financial affairs of someone who has died can be hard to deal with, at what is already a difficult time.
To notify us that a client of ours has passed away, please inform their Investment Manager or Financial Planner at Rathbones.
It's usually the executor or administrator of the deceased's estate who does this.
Every situation is different, but we will ask for a Death Certificate and often require legal documents like a will or trust agreement. So, having these ready can help the process - but we will talk this through with you.
Please note that UK-specific regulations and procedures apply in these situations, and tax laws can affect estates, so we recommend consulting with professionals who are knowledgeable about UK estate and tax laws.
