We believe everyone – no matter their starting point – should have the practical money skills and confidence to make informed decisions.
That’s why we’re proud to partner with Young Enterprise, a nationwide charity that brings hands-on financial education and enterprise programmes into schools and communities.
About Young Enterprise
Since 1963, Young Enterprise has helped over 7 million young people across the UK develop the skills, confidence and mindset needed to thrive in work and life. Their hands-on programmes – delivered in partnership with schools, colleges and youth organisations – connect classroom learning with real-world experience, enabling young people to learn to earn, manage money and make a positive contribution to their communities.
Young Enterprise champions financial capability and enterprise education as essential tools for social mobility and economic resilience. Their work is supported by Rathbones and other partners committed to helping young people build brighter futures. The impact of this work has been recognised by the UK Parliament and the All Party Parliamentary Group on Financial Education for Young People.
About our partnership
Our partnership combines the Rathbones Foundation’s commitment to community and financial wellbeing for young people with Young Enterprise’s proven, classroom-tested programmes. Together we support:
- Enhancing young people’s knowledge, confidence, and aspirations vital for building brighter pathways.
- Workshops and events – interactive sessions where young people learn budgeting, saving, borrowing, and the basics of investing through practical and engaging exercises.
- Employee volunteering – Rathbones colleagues giving time as mentors, judges and workshop facilitators to bring industry perspective and role models into the classroom.
Our shared aim is that young people leave Young Enterprise programmes with increased confidence, improved money-management habits and better preparedness for work and adult life. We measure success by improvements in financial knowledge, practical skills developed through projects, and the number of schools and young people reached — and we report learnings transparently so the work can scale.
Rathbones’ support since 2022 has helped more young people from disadvantaged areas access hands-on programmes that build experience, teamwork and entrepreneurial thinking. We’ve also welcomed Rathbones volunteers into schools across the UK.
Financial education builds confidence and opportunity. Our partnership with Young Enterprise helps turn abstract ideas into practical skills young people can use every day.
