Informal virtual catch-ups for sharing experiences, seeking advice, and finding guidance.
At Rathbones, we recognise that the menopause is often a silent and misunderstood topic in the workplace, leaving many women to navigate its challenges and impacts on work-life alone.
That’s why we created the Menopause Matters@Rathbones network, to empower everyone to be able to speak about menopause openly and confidently.
Through this dedicated group of colleagues, we aim to normalise conversations about menopause in the workplace, provide practical guidance, and ensure that everyone experiencing symptoms feels supported and empowered to thrive in their careers, and that those supporting close ones experiencing menopause can seek counsel as well.
Accredited as a Menopause Friendly Employer by Henpicked
In recognition of the effectiveness of the network and its members, and the changes to policies and practices at Rathbones, we’re proud to be accredited as a Menopause Friendly Employer, by Henpicked – a leading UK organisation specialising in menopause education, support, and workplace accreditation.
Why Menopause matters in the workplace
Menopause is a natural life stage which for some women can affect health, wellbeing, and working life. For too long, it has been a taboo subject, leaving many to struggle in silence. In some situations, it can leave a woman feeling unable to effectively work and lead them to leave the workplace.
At Rathbones, we believe that open conversation and practical support are essential to creating an inclusive, compassionate, and high-performing workplace. Addressing menopause isn’t just about supporting individuals – it’s about building a culture where everyone can thrive, regardless of life stage.
Our approach: normalising, supporting, empowering
Our journey began with a simple story shared internally, which sparked the creation of our menopause support network. Today, our Menopause Matters @ Rathbones network is open to all colleagues, regardless of gender or seniority. We offer:
