Amy joined Rathbones in October 2020 through the Rathbones Graduate Scheme, having graduated with a first-class degree in Accountancy and Finance at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. The 24 month long Graduate Scheme involved gaining in-depth experience and knowledge of Rathbones by exposure to a variety of departments. Amy now works as an Assistant Investment Manager in the Glasgow Office. She works closely alongside Tony Smith in providing discretionary investment management services for private individuals, pensions, and trusts.

I specialise in managing bespoke multi-currency portfolios including dollar, euro and sterling strategies. The most important part of my job is understanding my clients emotions and their behaviour as these factors are critical to establishing a long-term investment plan that will benefit everyone over the years.

Olivia is an investment Director on the charity team at Rathbones, where she joined from Investec Asset Management. She is an Associate of the CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment) having obtained the Investment Advice Diploma, and is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charterholder. Olivia graduated from Exeter University with a BSc Hons in Economics and Politics, and currently sits on the Charity Stock Selection Committee at Rathbones, as well as the Stewardship Committee.

My main role is to provide support to the financial planners in the office. I aim to free up as much of their time as possible so that they can concentrate on meeting and working with clients whenever needed. My day-to-day varies depending on the needs of the client.

Jonathan joined Rathbones in 2011 and provides discretionary management for private clients, pensions, trusts and charity portfolios. He started his investment career at JP Morgan in 2007 and prior to joining Rathbones, worked at Newton assisting in the management of private client portfolios.

I am predominantly responsible for running private client portfolios at Investec Wealth & Investment, having worked for the Firm for well over 20 years, whilst having over 30 years’ investment experience. My clients have general investments, SIPPs, offshore bonds, ISAs, AIM stocks etc. Previously I worked for Baring Asset Management and AON Minet which ultimately merged (via Capel Cure Sharp) into Barclays Wealth, where I gained varied experience in the world of investment.

Julian is a Chartered Wealth Manager and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment with 25 years’ investment management experience. He specialises in managing investments for private clients, trusts, charities, corporates, personal pension funds and the clients of financial advisers.

I manage a variety of discretionary portfolios on behalf of private individuals, charities, trusts, financial advisers and other intermediaries. In addition, I am a member of the Collectives Committee within Investec's Investment & Research Office which oversees the fund selection for the firm. I have a background in absolute return and have a keen interest in global macro hedge funds and alternative investments.

David Kness is an Investment Director in our Winchester office and is responsible for managing a wide variety of portfolios for private clients. He has over 15 years’ experience in the industry. David sits on various committees and specialist teams within Rathbones involving Entrepreneur and Divorce clients.

Nick joined Saunderson House (SHL) in 2007 as part of the graduate trainee programme and is now a Financial Planning Director and part of Rathbones Financial Planning following the acquisition of SHL in October 2021. Within his role he is responsible for managing clients’ overall financial planning matters, consulting with them on issues of strategy, technical matters and the construction of investment portfolios.

John joined Rathbones in 2010, having previously worked in both law and accountancy firms. He primarily deals with the taxation and administration of trusts (in some cases as one of the trustees) and also prepares personal tax returns. John is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
