John joined Rathbones in 2020, following a near-twenty year investment career at Barclays.
In 2016, John took on management of Barclays’ Court of Protection (CoP) and Special Interest (SI) book, representing the most vulnerable component of Barclays’ discretionary proposition. This involved a tailored style of management sensitive to the unique nature of each set of client circumstances.
Prior to specialising in CoP and SI work, John managed private client, offshore bond, trust and pension portfolios for Barclays’ Northern Ireland discretionary book. He served on Barclays’ Fixed Income Collectives Committee, and was latterly responsible for the allocation of Government Debt and European equity within the firm’s regional models.
John graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2000, and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
