Giles joined Rathbones in 2021 and supports the discretionary management of investment portfolios on behalf of private clients, trusts, and charities. Prior to joining Rathbones, Giles spent over two years working as a Financial Services consultant at one of the top 5 professional services firm. He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment and has won two awards for his achievements in completing the Level 7 Wealth Manager qualification. He also has a Level 6 Diploma in Investment Compliance. As a result of these achievements, Giles sits on the CISI Level 7 Financial Markets exam panel as a Subject Matter Expert. Outside of work, Giles is a trustee of the Somerset Community Foundation and a member of its Investment Committee.

Carl is a assistant investment manager working alongside Ian Hardcastle, Justine Peck, Phil Wyatt and Oliver Northover. He joined Rathbones in 2021 following the completion of BSc (Hons) degree in Economics / Accounting and Finance from the Aberystwyth University.

Carl is an associate member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments having successfully completed the Investment Advice Diploma in August 2022. Carl is currently studying toward the Chartered Wealth Manager qualification.

Matthew joined Rathbones in January 2024 having previously worked at Brooks Macdonald for 6 and a half years.

Prior to this, he was a professional footballer, representing clubs from the Premier league down to lower leagues of English football.

Matthew holds the CISI Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification and the CISI Investment Advice Diploma. He also holds accounting qualifications with the AAT.

Matthew is married with two children and when he isn’t spending time with his family, he enjoys spending time on the golf course.

Tim Hurst has been employed in the front office of the Wealth Management industry since 2000. Tim provides bespoke management services to high net individuals, families, corporates, and intermediaries. Tim manages Portfolios, including AIM (IHT), ISAs, Pensions and Trusts. 

Tim is a chartered fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and is educated to degree level. Tim was employed as a senior investment director for Investec Wealth & Investment, previously Rensburg Sheppards and was deputy manager of their Cheltenham office. 

Tim is a family man and lives in the Cotswolds. Away from work he enjoys trail running, playing golf, football and walking his dogs.

Kirsty has over 20 years’ experience in the industry starting with Greig Middleton (now Barclays Wealth) in Glasgow in 2000. She builds good client relationships through a friendly and straightforward approach.

Kirsty joined Rathbones in February 2024 as part of the merger with Investec Wealth & Investment having previously spent more than 17 years at RBC Brewin Dolphin in Birmingham. She has an undergraduate degree from the University of Aberdeen and postgraduate degree from the University of Strathclyde.

Oliver is head of asset allocation at Rathbones. He is responsible for carrying out research on the global economy and financial markets, supporting Rathbones’ top-down tactical and strategic investment processes. He is a voting member of Rathbones’ asset allocation committee and its UK equity sector committee.

Oliver joined Rathbones in January 2022. Prior to joining, he worked for Capital Economics, where he initially covered the UK economy, commodities and emerging markets, before specialising in global markets and helping to establish the firm’s asset allocation service. He holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge, and a masters degree in Financial Economics from Birkbeck, University of London. As a student, he also worked in the Economics Group at HM Treasury, focusing on economic modelling.

Richard’s career began in management consultancy before a career change saw him join Killik & Co in Mayfair in 2010. Richard then joined Duncan Lawrie in 2014 and, prior to joining Rathbones, he was a Partner at Smith & Williamson, having joined the business in 2016.

Richard graduated from the University of Bristol with a first class honours degree and holds the Chartered Wealth Manager qualification.

Sally is the fixed income research analyst for the Rathbone Multi-Asset and Rathbone Greenbank Multi-Asset Portfolio funds. Sally joined Rathbones in September 2022 as an analyst for the Rathbone Fixed Income Team. Prior to joining Rathbones, she worked in fixed income and private wealth management at Evans and Partners in Australia. Sally graduated from Monash University, Melbourne, with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (with Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Finance) and is currently a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 3 candidate.

He holds the CFA Certificate in ESG Investment and is a member of the investment committee at Birmingham Women’s & Children’s Hospital and a Trustee of Forest of Hearts.

Ian has over two decades worth of experience, including a period as the Head of a regional specialist Charity team at another firm. Ian has considerable experience of working with and advising Trustees of Charities and other non-profit organisations of all types and sizes and from a wide range of sectors. He is also a frequent speaker on Charity related investment matters and he has published articles in journals such as The Business Influencer and Philanthropy Impact magazine.
