Aidan Edgerton

Aidan is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. He joined Rathbones in 2021 as part of their acquisition of Saunderson House. Prior to joining Saunderson House in 2017, Aidan worked for a London-based mortgage and protection broker, which sparked his passion for helping people with their personal finances. He now has over 10 years’ experience of helping high net worth individuals, couples, and families to achieve their financial goals and ambitions through a range of financial planning services including, but not limited to: investment planning, retirement planning and estate planning.

Common problems his clients struggle with include:

• Balancing competing priorities such as paying for school fees, repaying mortgages, and saving for retirement.
• Understanding when they can retire and what steps can be taken to influence this.
• Ensuring their families are looked after should they prematurely die or be unable to work.
• Understanding what actions can be taken to tax-efficiently pass on wealth to future generations.
• Finding the time to research and/or action what is needed to achieve their financial goals.

He helps his clients solve these problems by building and implementing a bespoke financial plan; acting as a sounding board when making financial decisions; shouldering the burden of administering their finances; and providing access to an extensive professional network to assist with specialist or unique situations.

His focus is on providing his clients with peace of mind when making financial decisions and planning for the future, as well as giving them time back in their busy lives to focus on the things that matter most to them.

Aidan also holds a first-class honours degree in Financial Mathematics from the University of Kent and is currently based in Hertfordshire/London. Outside of work, Aidan enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and friends. He is also a keen skier and enjoys travelling the world and experiencing new cultures.
