James achieved a BA Hons in History/Art History and a master's degree in Business Studies & New Business Enterprise, both at Oxford Brooks University. James joined Rathbones in 2007 from Citigroup Smith Barney Wealth Management where he had worked since 2004 specialising in US individuals and trusts.

Scott Lothian

Scott is an investment director with over 20 years’ industry experience. He joined Rathbones in June 2021 from Brooks Macdonald Asset Management where he spent eleven years and served as both Head of AIM and Head of Direct Equities. A graduate of Heriot Watt University, Scott is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and holder of the Investment Management Certificate (IMC). Scott manages a variety of private client mandates but specialises in tax efficient AIM portfolios.

Mary Sheehan

Mary is a Research administration manager and joined Rathbones in 2016. Mary sits on the research support team and is responsible for taking minutes of meetings, building relationships with external brokers, organising company meetings, creating and maintaining departmental procedures and other ad hoc project work. Mary has over 17 years’ experience in financial services, having previously worked for Lloyds Banking Group and BGC Partners. She gained her AAT Accounting Certificate in 2001 and became a full member of the Association of Accounting Technicians in 2002.

Giles Wood

Giles joined Rathbones in 2021 and supports the discretionary management of investment portfolios on behalf of private clients, trusts, and charities. Prior to joining Rathbones, Giles spent over two years working as a Financial Services consultant at one of the top 5 professional services firm. He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment and has won two awards for his achievements in completing the Level 7 Wealth Manager qualification. He also has a Level 6 Diploma in Investment Compliance.

David Wainman

He enjoys managing multi-asset portfolios for wealthy families, pension funds, trusts and companies. He prides himself on building close relationships with clients and delivering the highest quality of service.

Christopher Swan

Glen Johnson

Glen is an investment director managing discretionary portfolios for family clients, private individuals, their self-invested personal pension (SIPP) and small charities. Glen is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for securities and Investments and has 30 years experience of working within the investment management industry. He became part of Neilson Cobbold in 1991 which was then acquired by Rathbones in 1996.
