Paul is a member of the personal injury and Court of Protection team, providing financial advice and tax structuring for personal injury claimants and clients in later life, working with Court of Protection deputies, trustees and individual clients.

Dean is a Chartered Financial Planner based in Bristol, with over 10 years’ experience in the industry and has been with Rathbones since 2021.Dean provides holistic financial planning advice to individuals, families, trusts and business owners, assisting them in planning for and achieving their financial goals.
Dean is experienced in all aspects of financial planning, including investment structuring and tax efficiency, retirement and income planning strategies, in addition to protection, estate, and inheritance tax planning.

James works closely with a diverse range of clients, including entrepreneurs and current and former Partners from Big Four accountancy firms and Magic Circle law firms. He is passionate about helping clients achieve financial independence through thoughtful, strategic planning and tailored investment advice.
James joined Saunderson House after graduating with First Class Honours in Biomedicine from Lancaster University. He holds Chartered Financial Planner status and is now part of Rathbones Financial Planning, following the acquisition of Saunderson House.

Andrew Gaffney

Andrew works closely with Tony Smith and Graeme Dickie in Glasgow, providing investment management services to private individuals, pensions, and trusts. He completed an undergraduate degree at Glasgow Caledonian University in Finance, Investment and Risk. After obtaining a 2:1, he went on to complete a Master’s degree in Investment Fund Management, achieving a Merit from the University of Glasgow.
Andrew joined Speirs & Jeffrey in 2018 on their graduate scheme before Speirs & Jeffrey was fully integrated with Rathbones in July 2019.

I aim to ensure portfolios are structured to support long‑term goals, aligned to individual risk profiles, while also providing access to funds when needed. I manage portfolios for private clients, pensions, charities and trusts, with a strong focus on clear communication and tax‑efficient investing. I am a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
