Alan Dobbie

Alan joined Rathbones in October 2005. He became co-manager of the Rathbone Income Fund in October 2018. Alan has previously managed and co-managed a number of UK, European and global equity funds for Rathbones.
He graduated from the University of Strathclyde with an MSc Finance and also holds degrees in Accounting & Finance and Chemical Sciences from the Universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh, respectively. Alan holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.

Peter Lowe

Peter is an investment director and Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). He joined Rathbones in 2014 prior to which he had been a partner of Smith & Williamson Investment Management Ltd where he had been for some 20 years. At Smith & Williamson he provided investment support to the personal financial planning arm concentrating on pension management, fixed income investing and heading up the collective research process.

Jonathan Giles

Jonathan is managing director of Rathbones Investment Management International. He manages a range of international private client, trust, and charity portfolios and is included on both the Citywealth Honours and Global Guardians Lists, which recognise professionals in the private wealth management industry who have ‘technical expertise, trusted status, integrity and reputation’ and ‘have made a distinctive contribution to their field’. Jonathan is also a recommended HNW Wealth Manager in the Spear’s 500.

Tom Smyth

Tom is a Chartered Fellow of the Securities and Investment Institute and a Chartered Wealth Manager. He is part of the team that transferred to Rathbones from Deutsche Bank in May 2014 and before Deutsche Bank Tom was a private client manager at Brown Shipley.
As an investment director, Tom manages portfolios for private clients, pension funds, charities and trusts. He holds a MSc in Industrial Relations from Manchester Business School and a BSc in Management Studies from the University of Manchester (UMIST).

Dominic Burchall

Dominic joined Greenbank in 2020 and is an Investment Manager, specialising in managing ethical portfolios on behalf of private clients, trusts and charities. He has a first-class Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Leicester. He began his career working at Morgan Stanley before heading to Close Brothers Asset Management.
Dominic is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder and a holder of the CISI Level 4 Investment Advice Diploma.

James Vincent

James started his career in 2008 working for Lloyds TSB Private Banking in Exeter as an investment reviewer. In 2010 he moved to London and worked briefly as an associate equity dealer before joining Smith & Williamson in 2011. James joined Rathbones as an investment manager in 2014.James works in a successful team alongside Peter Lowe and three further investment managers. James and the team manage in excess of £1.6bn across a range of portfolios, including a broad range of investment mandates for individuals, trusts, pension funds (both SIPPs and SSASs) and charities.

Charlie Young

Charlie joined Greenbank in January 2021 after graduating from the University of Warwick with a BASc (Bachelor of Arts and Sciences) in Economic Studies and Global Sustainable Development. He also holds the Investment Management Certificate from CFA Society United Kingdom. As an Ethical, Sustainable and Impact Researcher, Charlie is responsible for analysing investments against a range of environmental, social and governance criteria, as well as for conducting thematic research into key responsible investment issues.
