Phil is an investment director, who manages a variety of investment portfolios.  After graduating from Southampton University with an honours degree in Sports Science, Phil joined HSBC later that year.  Phil spent 14 years working in the private client department of HSBC Global Asset Management managing portfolios for private clients, personal pension funds, trusts and charities.  He is a Chartered Member of the Institute for Securities and Investment

Philip is a Chartered Financial Planner with over nine years’ experience of working collaboratively with his clients to structure their financial affairs to meet their financial objectives. He passionately believes in the value of proper financial planning and has seen the value of the peace of mind and reassurance that planning brings to clients who are uncertain of their long term security and who wish to ensure their affairs are managed in the most suitable and tax-efficient manner.

Philip previously worked at the Private Bank C. Hoare & Co, joining Rathbones in August 2016. He is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments.

Philip is an investment director who joined Rathbones in 1997 having previously qualified as a professional member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.

Phil completed the Securities Institute Diploma and subsequently qualified as a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment as well as achieving the designation of Chartered Wealth Manager.

Phil is responsible for managing investment portfolios for private individuals, trusts and SIPPs.

Philip started his career at Sun Life Assurance in London and then moved to Bristol to join AXA. Philip’s career with AXA spanned 23 years, 17 of those years in sales, employed as a business development manager for 6 years and then the latter 11 years as regional sales manager, managing a team of business development managers within the intermediary division.

Philip is qualified with the Investment Management Certificate, a Diploma in Financial Planning, a Certificate in Discretionary Investment Management and is currently studying for the Private Client Investment Advice and Management examination.

His role in Rathbones is to grow and develop the business Rathbones writes with vision financial planning advisers nationally. 

Polly Anderson

Polly is our strategic partnership manager, working with a range of industry influencers to ensure that the various routes-to-market are understood, positioned and communicated accordingly.  She specialises in the Rathbones discretionary fund management service.
Polly has over 20 years’ business-to-business sales exposure in a variety of sectors including software, travel, commercial banking, nano-technology, employee health services and travel management.

Rachel Lewis

Rachel is a tax senior, joining Rathbones in 2005 after gaining five years invaluable experience with HMRC. Rachel has a sound, working knowledge which is important when liaising with HMRC on a frequent basis. She specialises mainly in personal taxation but is also involved in VAT compliance for non-resident entities. Rachel prides herself on building strong, professional relationships with her portfolio of clients.

Randolph Churchill

Randolph is an investment director, Chartered Accountant and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.  Randolph previously led an investment team at Schroders Private Bank.  Before joining Schroders, he was Director in charge of charities at Lazard Asset Management running investments for a number of larger UK charities.  He also worked at Deloitte and Touche Accountants.

After leaving school, Randolph served five years in the Royal Navy and his last appointment was as a Navigating and Operations Officer on HMS Swallow in the Hong Kong Squadron.  Subsequently, Randolph attended Buckingham University where he was awarded a degree in Financial Management and Accountancy.  

Until December 2016 Randolph was a Director of the Armed Services Investment Company that oversees the investment for over 100 military charities and also until December 2016 a Trustee of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust.

Randolph is currently a Trustee of the War Memorial Trust, President of the International Churchill Society, Patron of The Biggin Hill Memorial Museum Trust, a Patron of Winston’s Wish and the JAGS Foundation.

Rebecca is an investment manager working with a team managing private client portfolios, self-invested pensions schemes and charities. She is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Rebecca started her career in 2004 at Whitefoord Limited, before moving to Holden & Partners, a Wealth Management firm with an Ethical bias. Rebecca worked as a junior investment manager, where she was managing portfolios and researching investments before joining Rathbones in 2010.

Richard Dawson

Richard is the regional director for Rathbones’ Kendal office; along with the Kendal team, Richard manages funds on behalf of private clients, pension funds, charities and trusts. 

Richard moved to the Lake District to join Rathbones in 2002, having trained and worked in London and has been investing on behalf of his clients for close to 25 years.

With a degree in Business Studies, Richard is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. Richard is married with two daughters, he enjoys many outdoor activities and is also a governor of a local community school.

Richard is a client director at Rathbone Investment Management International. He is primarily responsible for the growth of the overseas private client base with an emphasis on Asia.  Richard is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, holds a Diploma in Trust and Estate Practice and has two degrees in financial services. Richard joined Rathbones in September 2018 and has 20 years’ experience in financial services in both Jersey and Hong Kong, most recently with HSBC and Brooks Macdonald.

Richard started his career at W.I Carr which later became part of Investec Wealth & Investment. His time there included 15 years as an investment manager. He has subsequently worked for BNP Paribas, Williams de Broë and Investec focussing on investment process design and risk management.

Richard joined Rathbones as head of investment process and risk in September 2014 and is a member of the Investment Executive. Richard graduated from Durham University with a degree in Psychology and has an MBA from Cranfield School of Management.

Richard is a graduate of the London School of Economics and has been working within the financial services industry for ten years. Since joining Rathbones in January 2009 he has successfully obtained Chartered status and is now a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.  Richard provides holistic financial planning to high net worth clients and has extensive knowledge and experience in advising clients on: their pensions and meeting specific retirement objectives; structuring investments to maximise tax efficiency; protecting themselves and their families in the event of death or long-term illness; estate planning and the mitigation of inheritance tax.

Richard has responsibility for investment management special projects including recruitment.  He also manages a large number of client portfolios.  He joined the Group Executive Committee in July 2015. 

Robert Crawshaw

Robert is an investment director at Rathbones having joined in 2013 and manages a broad range of private client portfolios, charities and self-invested pension schemes. He was previously associate director at Brewin Dolphin and has over 15 years investment experience. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment and holds a degree in Economics from Exeter University.

Robert is a member of Rathbones’ International Investment Committee working in partnership with specialist financial advisors across Europe to provide investment management services to non UK resident clients. In addition, he is a member of the Collectives Investment Funds Committee which has the responsibility of research and selection of third party funds for the group. He is a regular contributor within the national press and has previously consulted with the financial services regulator and the government on industry-related issues. Robert lives in West London with his wife and three children.

Robert joins us as an investment director from Taylor Young Investment Management Ltd and manages a range of private client, trust, charity and SIPP portfolios.

Robert began his career at Scrimgeour Kemp-Gee Ltd in 1982 before moving to Greig Middleton in 1991 and subsequently joining Taylor Young Investment Management Ltd in 2004. Robert is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Robert Hughes-Penney

Robert is an investment director and he has 25 years experience managing portfolios for wealthy private clients, trusts, pensions and charities.

After University, RMA Sandhurst and serving as an Army Officer for four years, Robert joined the City stockbrokers Laurence Keen that was acquired by Rathbones in 1995. He is qualified as a Chartered Wealth Manager and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment.  Robert has had a number of senior roles within the business and is currently deputy head of the London office.

Robert is an Alderman of the City of London and on the Court of the Haberdashers’ Company.  He is also a non-executive director of the social impact investment company, Investing for Good.

 

Robert Slater

Robert joined Rathbones in 2019 as an investment manager. He gained multiple years’ experience managing multi-asset portfolios for ultra-high net worth clients at Hassium Asset Management LLP as a portfolio manager. Robert has also worked at Invesco Perpetual and Oil Brokerage. He has a degree in Economics and Geography from Loughborough University, is a CFA charterholder and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments.

Robert Szechenyi

Bob is an investment director, having joined Rathbones in October 2000.  He runs a desk with fellow investment directors Richard Lanyon, Randolph Churchill, David Bassett and investment manager Stuart Furzer.  The desk manages in excess of £850m.

Bob is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and manages discretionary private client investment portfolios, together with a number of charities, personal pension schemes, offshore bonds and family trusts. 

He is a member of the Rathbones Collective Funds Investment Committee and has responsibility for the research, selection and ongoing monitoring of structured products for the group. 

In addition, Bob helped launch the international team in 2015 which manages Sterling, Euro and Dollar portfolios for clients of International advisers and in 2017 the team was named Best International Discretionary Fund Manager at the annual International Investment awards

Bob is also responsible for communicating Rathbones' investment views to the media and is quoted regularly in the national press.

Robert Unsworth

Robert joined Rathbones in 2017 as an investment director and has over 15 years of investment management experience. He began his career in 2000, working for a number of regional stockbrokers before spending thirteen years at Brown Shipley in their Manchester office.

Rob is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, a Chartered Wealth Manager and holds an honours degree in Accounting.

At Rathbones, Rob is responsible for managing multi asset investment portfolios for  private individuals, trustees, and pension funds. He places the utmost importance on building close relationships with his clients and delivering the highest quality of service.

 

Robert Walker

Robert joined Rathbones in 2014 as investment director. He started his investment career over 20 years ago at Coutts & Co as portfolio manager in their investment department after graduating from Newcastle University with a degree in Economics and Business Management in 1994.

After gaining his investment qualifications at Coutts he then moved to the private client division of Invesco Perpetual as Investment Director and was responsible for the integration of Perpetual’s Private Client division, focussing on the management of both UK and international private client portfolios. In 2004, Invesco Perpetual sold their Private Client division to Singer & Friedlander and, in 2008, Robert joined Jupiter Asset Management with the same team of individuals he has worked with since 1995.

Finally, Jupiter sold their Private Client division to Rathbones in 2014, where Robert retains his specialism of managing investment portfolios for high net worth individuals, trusts, charities and pension funds, both in the UK and for international “ex-pats” by working in partnership with specialist financial advisors in Europe. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute.

Rollo Duckworth

Rollo is an investment director, looking after private clients, family trusts, and small pensions and charities. He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and holds the Investment Advice Certificate.

Rollo joined Rathbones in 2006, from Ely Fund Managers where he had been managing director since 1999.

Rosie Bezant

Rosie is an investment sales executive, working on developing relationships with the third-party market, including fund platforms, wraps, and life companies, as well as the underlying IFA community, which now increasingly rely on these platforms. Her focus is on the South.

Rosie joined Rathbones in July 2008, having graduated with a BA Hons from Sussex University.

Rosie joined Rathbone Greenbank in June 2015. She has a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from Manchester University.  She has been awarded the CISI level 4 Investment Advice Diploma and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. 

Ross Bridger

Ross began his career in operations at Lifetime Group and subsequently Singer & Friedlander. He then spent almost six years with Jupiter Asset Management as a portfolio manager before joining Rathbones in September 2014.

Ross graduated from Cambridge University with a master's degree in Natural Sciences and is a Chartered Wealth Manager and Chartered Member of the CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment). He now sits on the CISI examination panel for the Financial Markets module of the Chartered Wealth Manager qualification (formerly known as CISI Masters in Wealth Management).

Rowland Flower

Rowland began his investment career in 1997 at Fleming Private Asset Management (subsequently acquired by JP Morgan Chase) where he built up a solid grounding in equity research before becoming a private client portfolio manager. In 2001, he joined HSBC Investment Management, where he was made a director and ultimately responsible for a team managing over £200m of assets.

Rowland moved to PSigma Investment Management as an investment director in 2005, making a significant contribution to the firm’s expansion during his six years managing private client, trust and SIPP portfolios. He joined the Liverpool office of Rathbones in January 2012 as an investment director.

Rowland graduated from Newcastle University in 1997 with 2:1 BSc (Hons) degree in Rural & Environmental Economics. Professional qualifications include the SFA Registered Person’s Certificate (1998) and the Securities Institute Diploma (2000).  In 2001 he was made a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.  In 2008 and 2009, he received nominations at the Spear’s Wealth Management Awards in the category ‘Future Leader in Wealth Management’.

At Rathbones, Rowland manages discretionary portfolios for private clients, including SIPPs, trusts and offshore bonds.  He is also a member of the Financial Adviser Specialist Group.

Rupert Baron

Rupert is an investment director of Rathbone Investment Management and Head of the London office. He manages a broad range of investment mandates including those for, individuals, trusts, pension funds (SIPPs and SSAS), charities and local authorities.

Rupert holds an honours degree in economics, is an alumnus of INSEAD and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

He has over 34 years’ experience within the private client investment industry.  He joined the Group Executive Committee in July 2015 and heads our London investment team.

 

Rupert Heggs

Rupert has over 30 years’ investment management experience. He specialises in the management of domestic, international private client and charitable portfolios. He is responsible for the investment management of personal injury and Court of Protection portfolios. He joined Rathbones in 2001 having previously been a director at Flemings, where he started his City career in 1987.

He is a member of Rathbones International Stock Selection and Corporate Governance and Stewardship Committees.

Rupert is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and holds an MBA in International Management of Financial Services.

Rupert Pepper

Rupert is a director – corporate development and is part of the team responsible for coordinating the M & A activities for the Group and leading Group-wide strategic projects.

Prior to joining Rathbones in March 2015, Rupert spent 15 years in corporate finance at Hawkpoint Partners and subsequently Canaccord Genuity, where he advised a wide variety of financial services companies on M&A and financing transactions, with a particular focus on the investment management and private banking sectors. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute.

Russell Crichton

Russell is responsible for Rathbones’ investment management business in Scotland. Prior to this, he was chief executive of Speirs & Jeffrey which was fully integrated with Rathbones in July 2019. Aside from these responsibilities he manages portfolios for charities, families and trusts.

After graduating from the University of Wales in Cardiff with a degree in Economics, Russell worked in the institutional fund management industry for ten years. He was a fund manager with Murray Johnstone and then Norwich Union (Aviva) before switching to private client work shortly after joining Speirs & Jeffrey in 1997. He became chief executive of Speirs & Jeffrey in 2011 and head of Rathbones in Scotland in August 2018. Speirs & Jeffrey was fully integrated with Rathbones in July 2019.

Sachin Amin

Sachin joined Speirs & Jeffrey in 2015 having previously worked as an investment manager in the City of London.  He graduated from Imperial College London with a masters in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and holds the CISI Chartered Wealth Management qualification.  Sachin is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Sachin works closely with Tom Brown, managing portfolios for a wide range of private clients, charities and trusts. Speirs & Jeffrey was fully integrated with Rathbones in July 2019.
