Meera Dennis

Meera Dennis is an investment director and has a Masters degree in Economics from Calcutta University and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered institute for Securities.

Meera started her professional career as a journalist in Calcutta, before joining the Bombay Stock Exchange in 1985. She subsequently moved to Aberdeen and started her investment career with William Murray Stockbrokers in 1987, helping to set up the Charterhouse Tilney office in Aberdeen in 1988. She joined Allied Provincial Securities in 1993 and was later appointed a divisional director of Brewin Dolphin. She managed both discretionary and advisory funds covering private clients, charities, Self Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs) and offshore and onshore investment bonds. She joined Rathbones in February 2010.

Mel Wells

Mel is a private client investment director managing discretionary and non-discretionary portfolios for high net worth individuals, SIPPs and Trusts.

Mel is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. He has long experience within the private client and banking industry. Prior to joining Rathbones in January 2015, Mel worked at Coutts & Co Bankers for over 20 years mainly in their Investment Department.

He had a short stint at Flemings and left to join Mercury Asset Management which was taken over by Merrill Lynch. Mel joined Smith & Williamson as an investment director in 2003 and worked for them for 11 years.
Mel lives in West Sussex with his wife, Pam. His hobbies include sailing.

Melanie Wotherspoon

Melanie joined Rathbones in 2014 after spending the previous seven years at Jupiter. Prior to that, she spent nine years at Baring Asset Management and previously worked for Deutsche Morgan Grenfell and EY. She gained international experience working for HSBC in Hong Kong, San Francisco and Mumbai.

Melanie is a Chartered Accountant, has a degree in Systems and Management from City University, London and holds the PCIAM Diploma with distinction.

She is both a Trustee and Chair of the Finance and Investment Committee for the Francis C Scott Charitable Trust that commits over £1m a year to areas of deprivation in Cumbria and North Lancashire. The Scott Trust has a particular focus on the young. Melanie is also a Director of Chartered Accountants' Trustees Limited - the umbrella company for a number of the ICAEW's charities.

Michael Wright

Michael Wright is an investment director, managing private client portfolios, pension funds and specialising in charities with ethical constraints, both in the UK and overseas. Michael is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Prior to joining Laurence Prust in 1979, he trained and qualified in the Private Client Department of Grieveson Grant & Co. in the City.

As part of his voluntary work, he is a Trustee and Board Member of Stewardship, the 6thlargest faith based charity in the U.K., providing giving services to the Christian sector and philanthropy advice to donors. In addition, he serves on the School Governing body of a major London Girls’ Day School.

He also plays his part in a weekly church based programme to shelter the unemployed and homeless in London SW7 in the winter months.

Mike Bolsover is Head of Strategy and Organisation Development, appointed in September 2014. Mike has spent over 30 years in commercial and retail banking sectors, undertaking a range of roles with a bias towards strategy and the management of people.

Following a lengthy career with Midland bank and then subsequently HSBC, Mike moved into private wealth management, as Director of Strategy and Human Resources for Gerrard. For the past 9 years Mike worked for Euroclear SA/NV the world’s largest post trade settlement infrastructure  as Director Corporate Strategy, working  in Europe, South America, Africa and Asia. He was awarded an OBE for his work in building opportunities for the unemployed.

Mike is a senior financial planner, joining Rathbones in 2017 from Lloyds Bank Private Clients. Mike has over 30 years’ experience of working in the financial services industry. He is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society who specialises in providing holistic financial planning to high net worth individuals.

Mike Webb is chief executive officer of Rathbone Unit Trust Management, joining in February 2010.  With over 25 years’ experience, Mike joined from Hermes Fund Managers where he was head of business development.  Previous roles include chief executive officer of Invesco Perpetual, prior to which he was managing director of the retail division of GT Global Asset Management and sales & marketing director of Prolific Financial Management.

Mona Shah

Mona is Head of Collectives Research for Rathbones, responsible for fund selection and due diligence across a range of long only and alternative investment strategies. She sits on Rathbones’ Collectives Research and Strategic Asset Allocation Committees. She also assists the Rathbone Multi-Asset Portfolios team with their collectives’ investments.

Mona joined Rathbones ten years ago as a graduate and has consistently been named in the Citywire top 100 Fund Selectors in the UK. She has a first class joint honours degree in Economics and Politics from the University of Bristol and is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charter-holder.

Natalie Rizzi

Natalie Rizzi is an investment director and has been managing funds for private clients and trustees since 1993. She joined Rathbones in July 2000 from Close Brothers where she was director of Private Asset Management (formerly Rea Brothers). She spent most of her career at Rea Brothers starting off in foreign exchange and moving to the investment management department in 1989. Natalie passed her general registered representative exam in 1989 and has been a diploma member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment since 1993.

Nathan Darby

Nathan Darby manages bespoke discretionary portfolios for charities, private client, trusts, pension funds, offshore bonds and corporate clients. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment. Nathan works with many local and national solicitors, accountants and financial advisors. He regularly presents at charity and investment seminars, with some of these leading firms. Nathan sits on the regional Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment committee, which represents local members at a national level.

Nathan has worked as an investment manager for 21 years, starting his career at Albert .E. Sharp in 1994. Following a takeover by Old Mutual Nathan moved to Quilter, where he worked for 13 years, latterly holding the position of Vice President. He was the regional charity specialist, sitting on the Quilter charities committee and managing several of the company’s largest charity accounts. Nathan joined Rathbones at the start of 2013 as an Investment Director in the Birmingham office.

Nehal Desai

Nehal started her career in 2008 at EFG Private Bank Limited, before moving to Rathbones in 2010. Nehal worked in Compliance where she gained valuable experience conducting Investment Manager Portfolio reviews and implementing regulatory changes.

Nehal transferred into Investment Management as an Assistant Investment Manager in 2014.

Nehal graduated from City University in 2007 with an Honours degree in Law. She is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments. She has also obtained the Investment Management Certificate, Diploma in Investment Compliance and Masters in Wealth Management.

Nehal works in a team assisting in the management portfolios for individuals, family groups and their associated trusts, charities and pension funds.

Neil Kerry

Neil is an Associate Sales Director responsible for client relationships and sales in the North of England. He joined Rathbones in November 2014, after nearly 10 years at Fidelity Worldwide Investment. Previously Neil worked at Rothschild Asset Management and has over 20 years experience in sales.

Neil previously worked for UBS Investment Bank in the USA prior to joining their Wealth Management office in Newcastle as an investment assistant in 2008.

He graduated from Northumbria University with a degree in economics and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI), holding the CISI Masters in Wealth Management qualification.

Neil is part of the team that specialises in the management of private clients, charities, trusts and pension funds.

Nicholas Elliott

Nicholas is an Investment Sales Consultant, working alongside Neil Kerry and Helen van Heesewijk and is a key point of contact for IFAs, brokers and DFM clients.  He focuses on Northern Ireland and Isle of Man.

Before joining Rathbones in March 2012.  Nicholas worked within Baker Tilly’s Mergers’ and Acquisitions team and Datamonitor’s Financial Services.

Nicholas holds a BSc (hons) in Business Administration from the University of Bath. He holds the Investment Management Certificate, and is a candidate for the CFA.

Nicholas joined Rathbones in April 2016 from HSBC where he had spent the last 28 years working in the Discretionary Wealth Management division. He graduated from the University of Southampton in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in Politics and International Studies. 

Nicholas is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and attained the CISI Diploma qualification in 1990.  He is an extremely experienced investment professional specialising in the management of multi asset investment portfolios for private investors, their pensions, trusts and charities. 

Nicholas Taylor-Young

Nicholas joined Rathbones in 2011 from Taylor Young Investment Management Ltd (TYIM), a firm started by his father in 1986.  He worked at TYIM for 17 years, latterly as a director and member of the executive committee, working on a wide range of discretionary investment mandates, while also maintaining analytical responsibilities.  After an initial period bedding down the business, he worked alongside other managers and is now part of a larger team headed by Jane Sydenham, with whom he has worked on various projects over the past couple of years. 

He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and a Chartered Wealth Manager.  Prior to working at TYIM, he graduated from Cambridge with an MA in Natural Sciences and started working life at Price Waterhouse, before moving to James Capel in 1986 and Smith & Williamson until 1995. 

Nick Cliffe

Nick graduated with a BA in History from Cardiff University in 2002 and is a Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute. 

He started his financial career with Barclays Wealth in London before moving to HSBC Global Asset Management in 2010, where he managed discretionary investment portfolios for a range of individuals, companies and charities. 

Prior to joining Rathbones in Bristol, Nick moved to Close Brothers in 2015, where he was part of a team managing £450m of assets on behalf of a variety of private clients, trusts and Self-Invested Personal Pensions. 

Nick is a holder of the Private Client Investment Advice and Management qualification, the Investment Management Certificate and the Certificate in Financial Planning.

Nick Fisher

Nick Fisher is an investment director, responsible for the management of private client portfolios and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. He joined Rathbones in 2001 from JPMorgan Fleming where he was a director of Fleming Private Asset Management. He became a member of the Stock Exchange in 1986 with Montagu, Loebl, Stanley.

Nick Jackson

Nick started his career in 1993 as an investment assistant at James Capel in the City. By 1998 he had been promoted to Senior Executive and took over a client base from a retiring Senior Executive in 1999. Nick moved to Rathbones at the start of 2002 and was employed as an Investment Director.

Nick is a chartered fellow of the CISI having attained all of his professional qualifications whilst in the City. He also has a Diploma in Business and Finance which he attained in 1992.

Nick works in a team alongside Helen Gerrard, and their focus tends to be on private individuals, their pension monies and their trusts which have been acquired either directly or through an intermediary. Nick is also an elected member of the Rathbone Investment Management forum.

Nick is married with two sons, who keep him busy on the mountain either skiing, biking or walking, on the golf course and in the surf, when on the family's annual holiday to Jersey.

Nick Liddle is an investment director with responsibility for the bespoke investment management of portfolios for private clients and their Trusts, Self Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs) and Charities. He has over 25 years investment experience having started his financial career with the Edinburgh stockbrokers, Bell Lawrie, subsequently Brewin Dolphin, where he rose to become a Divisional Director. His responsibilities there included being a Trustee of both the Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution company pension schemes and also a founding member of the asset allocation committee. 

Nick Roe-Ely

Nick began his investment career after university in 1981 with Tilney & Co, in Liverpool, where he spent 24 years. He joined Rathbones in 2011 after spending time as head of asset management with an investment boutique and with J O Hambro Capital Management in London.

Having graduated with honours in History from the University of Cambridge he  was elected a member of the London Stock Exchange in 1986. Nick is a chartered fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Although Nick specialises in the management of private clients, trusts, pensions and charities he is also an experienced US and global equities fund manager, and contributes to the Rathbone Investment Process being a member of the International Equities Committee. Additionally, he is a member of Rathbones IFA specialist group.

Nick Shaw is an investment director, responsible for managing segregated portfolios for private clients, trustees and pension funds, he joined Rathbones in 1997 having previously graduated with an honours degree in economics.

Nick has attained the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment Diploma and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered institute for Securities and Investment.

Nick started his career at Wise Speke, however, before joining Rathbones, he spent eight years at UBS where he became an executive director and head of the Newcastle office.

As well as gaining a degree from Newcastle University, Nick holds the Chartered Institute for Securities (CISI)  Diploma and is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI. Nick is also a Board Director of the CISI. In addition,  Nick also holds the Financial Planning Certificate (FPC) 1,2 & 3.

Nick has significant experience in managing private client, trust, offshore, pension fund and charity portfolios.

Nick is Chairman of the Percy Hedley Foundation, a large charity in the North East of England providing educational, vocational and residential care opportunities for disabled people; a trustee of both the Newcastle University Retirement Benefit Fund and the University’s Development Trust.

Nicola Day is an investment director with over twenty years experience in managing bespoke portfolios for private clients, charities and pensions. Nicola has a BSc (Hons) in economics and an MSc in corporate governance and ethics. She is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Nicola joined Rathbone Greenbank in August 2006 from Gerrard Investment Management Limited where she was head of the ethical division for six years. Prior to this she spent twelve years as an investment manager at HSBC Investment Management, formerly James Capel.

Nigel Hoff

Nigel Hoff is a trust administrator, having joined Rathbones in 2002. Nigel works in the London trust department which specialises in the administration of trusts and estates, associated tax advice, tax compliance and personal financial planning advice.

Prior to joining Rathbones, Nigel worked in private practice, having graduated with a degree in accountancy. He has been a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants since 2005, and a Fellow since 2010.

Nigel Reynoldson

Nigel began his career in the city in 1974, moving into Financial Services sector in 1977 with stockbrokers Strauss Turnbull. In 1986 he became a member of the London Stock Exchange.

During the 1990’s he worked for Societe Generale Investment Management, which was acquired by Tilney Investment Management in 2003. Tilney was acquired by The Deutsche Bank in 2007. He joined Rathbones Investment Management in June 2014.

Noelle Cazalis

Noelle works with Bryn Jones, providing in-depth credit analysis for the Rathbone Ethical Bond Fund, the Rathbone Strategic Bond Fund and Rathbone’s fixed income committee. She also assists the Rathbone Multi-Asset Portfolios team with their bond investments.

Noelle joined Rathbones in July 2011 and was made assistant manager in January 2016. Before this, she spent some time as a financial analyst for the Bank of France in Paris and five months in Cambodia, where she undertook due diligence on the Cambodian banking sector for the French Embassy.

Noelle has achieved two master’s degrees with distinction in 2010, from the University of Montesquieu in Bordeaux - a Magistere of International Finance, and a Master’s in Banking, Finance and Financial Assets Trading. Noelle is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charter-holder. She was named in the 2016 Citywire Top 30 Under 30 investment management awards.

Nolan Webber

Nolan manages portfolios for private clients, trusts, pensions, companies and charities. He is a graduate of the University of the West of England with a first class honours degree in Business Studies; and joined Rathbones in September 2001 – after three years in a similar role at Greig Middleton.

Nolan is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI); where he is also past president of the CISI Bristol, Bath & South Wales Branch Committee. Outside of work Nolan is a member of MENSA and supports various charities. 

Oliver Burns

Oliver Burns graduated from University of Birmingham with a degree in Economic and Social History.

Oliver joined Rathbones in September 2014 as an Investment Director from Jupiter Asset Management. At Jupiter, Oliver managed investment portfolios for a wide variety of clients including private clients, charities, institutions, and trusts. He was also an assistant manager for Jupiter Fund of Investment Trusts and Monthly Income unit trusts. Oliver started his career at Bestinvest whom he joined in 1997 where he ultimately became Head of Investment Management. Oliver is a Chartered Member of the CISI.

Oliver Harvey is an investment director specialising in discretionary private client fund management. While the focus is on private clients he also has considerable experience with many types of trust portfolios and personal pension schemes.  Most recently he and the team have developed a niche business running specialist portfolios for the Court of Protection.

Oliver holds a Masters (with honours) degree from Edinburgh University and is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. After graduating from Edinburgh, Oliver joined Fleming Private Asset Management as an equity research analyst, rising to head of the research team before joining one of the Private Client fund management teams, led by Tim Eliot-Cohen.  The takeover of Flemings by JP Morgan and the dramatic change in management style precipitating the move over to Rathbones.

Pages
