2. Stop and check before making the transfer

Once you have used the tool in step 1 to reveal the right Rathbones bank account to transfer to, please undertake the following checks when making the transfer:

  • Use your own banking app: Always log in to your bank in the usual way. We will never send you links, QR codes or payment buttons to make a payment.
  • Check the account name: When you enter our bank details, your bank will show you the account name. It must be Rathbones Investment Management Limited. If anything else appears, please do not proceed.
  • Compare it with another Rathbones document: Our bank details also appear on our official letters and statements. If what you see doesn’t match, please stop and contact us.
  • Be cautious of unexpected requests: We will never ask you to move money urgently or tell you that our bank details have changed.
  • If you are unsure, pause: If something doesn’t feel right, don’t make the payment. Contact your usual Rathbones team and we will confirm everything for you.
