Simon is an investment director and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and an IMC member of the CFA Society of the UK.
Simon joined Rathbones in April 2006 as a result of the acquisition of Ely Fund Managers (Part of the Dexia Group). Simon qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Binder Hamlyn in 1983 since when he has chalked up over 25 years stock-market experience in the City and overseas working for a number of leading UK and international stockbrokers before joining Ely Fund Managers in 2002.

Simon has worked in the financial industry since his graduation in 1991 and he was directly involved in opening the Cambridge office for Rathbones in 2001.

Sophie joined Rathbones in 2016 where she started her career as a graduate trainee. Prior to this, she graduated with a second class honours degree in Chemistry from St Edmund Hall, University of Oxford.
Sophie assists with managing private client portfolios, trusts, charities and self-invested personal pensions (SIPPs).
She is a CFA Charterholder and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI).

Stephanie is an investment director who helps families, charities, trusts and corporations achieve their financial goals through discretionary management of investment accounts, ISAs and pension portfolios. She is a Chartered Wealth Manager and CISI Chartered Fellow, holding the CISI Diploma qualification.
Stephanie graduated with an honours degree in Law from the University of Edinburgh and started her career as a solicitor, working at leading national firm Brodies and the Royal Bank of Scotland. She moved into investment banking at Barclays Capital before joining Speirs & Jeffrey over a decade ago to focus on investment management. Speirs & Jeffrey was fully integrated with Rathbones in July 2019.

She works closely alongside Alastair McLean and Angus Kerr to assist with the management of their client bases whilst also continuing to look after her own clients.

Stephen is an investment director managing a wide range of portfolios across a broad spectrum of client types including private clients, pension funds, trusts, companies and charities. He has particular expertise managing portfolios introduced by professional intermediaries, particularly financial advisers. Stephen is Chair of Rathbones’ Financial Adviser Investment team. The purpose of this team is to generate guidance portfolios for fund managers to use when building strategies for clients whilst also communicating Rathbones’ service and investment expertise to the financial adviser marketplace. Stephen is one of Rathbones’ specialist investment speakers and has extensive experience of public speaking, both at in-person meetings and conferences, as well as through digital platforms.
Prior to beginning a career in investment management Stephen was a professional rugby player with Exeter Chiefs. Today Stephen is a member of the leadership team of Andover Baptist Church and acts as one of the trustees of the charity. He continues to have a keen interest in outdoor pursuits and leads a local Open Award Centre offering young people the opportunity to complete their Duke of Edinburgh Award. Stephen holds an MA Finance and Investment from the University of Exeter and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment.

Stephen joined the Kendal office in 2023, having spent over a decade in the investment management industry starting his career in 2007.
Stephen graduated from Liverpool John Moores University having gained a bachelor’s degree in accountancy and finance, later he was awarded the Securities Institute Diploma and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. On an ongoing basis Stephen receives his annual Statement of Professional Standing from the Institute.
Based in the Kendal office, Stephen manages a range of private client, trust, pension and company portfolios. He works hand in hand with financial advisors, solicitors, and accountants to help clients with specialist investment advice.

In addition to managing investments for individuals Stephen forms part of the Rathbones Charities Team managing portfolios for charity and trust clients.
Stephen’s earlier investment career was in institutional fund management working as an investment director at Scottish Widows Investment Management and before that an investment manager at Britannic (now Abrdn) Asset Management. Over this period Stephen specialised in Japanese and Asian equities prior to forming part of a global equity team with responsibilities for the financial sectors.
After graduating from Heriot-Watt University with an honours degree in Economics, Stephen completed postgraduate studies in Investment Analysis at Stirling University. Stephen is a member of the Chartered Financial Analysts Society of the UK and a Chartered Fellow of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Stephen is deputy regional manager of the Edinburgh office. He specialises in the management of investments for private clients, trusts, and personal pension funds.
Prior to joining Rathbones, he spent 15 years with Cornelian Asset Managers where he contributed to the early development of this smaller independent firm. He trained with ABN AMRO Asset Management where he joined as a graduate from the University of Edinburgh in 1996.
He has long experience of working with financial advisers and works with the Rathbones IFA Investment Committee as well as chairing the Edinburgh Investment Committee. He is also interested in investment technology and systems and sits on the Front Office IT Committee.
