Steven Macgowan

Steven Macgowan is an investment manager.  Prior to joining Rathbones in July 2010, he spent two years with HBOS’s Portfolio Management Service.  He holds an honours degree in Accounting as well as the Investment Advice Diploma (IAD), the Private Client Investment Advice & Management Certificate (PCIAM), and a Masters in Wealth Management.  Steven is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (ACSI).

Stuart Furzer

Having joined Rathbones in 2011, Stuart is an investment manager and works alongside Bob Szechenyi, Richard Lanyon, Randolph Churchill and David Bassett. The desk manages in excess of £850m.

Stuart is a Chartered Member of the Institute for Securities and Investment and manages discretionary private client investment portfolios, together with a number of charities, personal pension schemes, offshore bonds and family trusts.

He is a member of the International team which manages multi-currency portfolios for clients with international advisers and is responsible for the research, selection and ongoing monitoring of bespoke investment solutions. 

In 2017 the team was named ‘Best International Discretionary Fund Manager’ at the annual International Investment awards.

Susan Stevenson

Susan is an investment director in our Glasgow office with over 25 years of investment experience.

After graduating from Strathclyde University, Susan started a traineeship with Campbell Neil in Glasgow. She then joined Coats Viyella Pension Fund as a UK equity fund manager before returning to her roots as a Private Client Investment Manager with Brewin Dolphin.

Susan is a Chartered Wealth Manager and Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute.

Susan joined Rathbones in June 2015 and is responsible for the investment management of Private Client portfolios, SIPPs and Charity funds.

Suzie Coats

Suzie Coats is an Associate within the Corporate Development team. Suzie also spent two years working as a management analyst for the Head of Investment Management at Rathbones. Prior to joining Rathbones in November 2012, Suzie worked as an analyst for a corporate finance boutique. Suzie has a BSc from UCL and a MSc from Imperial and is currently studying to be a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Thomas Croft supports and monitors the effectiveness of Rathbones’ investment process as a Research Management Analyst.

Thomas joined Rathbones in December 2014, initially working as a Portfolio Modelling Assistant within a large private client team. He later went on to work as an Investment Manager’s Assistant supporting an Investment Director with the management of client’s investment portfolios.

Thomas graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2014, with a first-class honours degree in Mathematics.

Thomas joined the Rathbones graduate scheme in May 2012. He works with Rupert Baron, Andrew Hess and Charles Sargent, managing discretionary investment portfolios for private individuals, their pensions, trusts and charities. Thomas has an honours degree in history from the University of St Andrews and is a CFA 3 candidate.

Tiffany Schnadhorst joined Rathbones in 2012 as an investment manager. Working alongside Christopher Buxton, Tiffany manages portfolios on behalf of a variety of private clients, trusts and charities.

After university Tiffany attended BPP Law School and began her career as a trainee corporate solicitor specialising in employment law and industrial relations. Tiffany joined Taylor Young Investment Management Ltd in 2007, where she was also a member of the international equity committee and responsible for equity research across the retail and consumer goods sectors. Tiffany has a BSc (Econ) in politics, GDL and LPC in law and became a CFA charter holder in 2011.

Tim joined Rathbones in March 2006 and manages discretionary portfolios for private clients, pension funds, trusts and charities.  He is also a member of the Investment Executive Committee and chairman of the Diversifiers Committee. 

Tim is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and has a joint honours degree from Edinburgh University in Politics and Economic History.  Prior to joining Rathbones, Tim worked for nine years as an investment manager at Kleinwort Benson where he sat on the Asset Allocation Committee and the Overseas Stock Selection Committee.  He is married with three children and lives in Suffolk.

Tim Bolton Carter is a regional director, managing a wide variety of investment portfolios. After graduating from Exeter University with an economics and politics degree Tim studied accountancy with Arthur Young before joining James Capel in the City of London. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Tim Ford is an investment director for Rathbone Investment Management International and manages a range of private client, trust and charity portfolios. Tim is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and holds the Investment Advice Certificate and the Certificate in Investment Management. He sits on both the Rathbone Fixed Income and Collectives committees and has particular responsibility for research and selection of 'best-of-breed' Japanese funds for the group.

Tim began his career in 1998 with the Bank of New York in London and moved to Jersey in 1999 to join Cater Allen Investment Management, which was acquired by Close International Asset Management in 2001. Tim was responsible for managing private client investment portfolios and was part of the investment team that was responsible for managing the award winning multi-manager, multi-asset Close All Weather Fund.

Tim Hubbard is an investment director looking after private client portfolios, trust, charities and pension funds.  He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and has a BA Hons degree in English from University College London and a diploma in Law from the University of Westminster. Prior to joining Rathbones in 1999 he read for the Bar.

Tim Johnson is an investment director with 22 years experience of managing private client investment portfolios.  He joined Rathbones in August 2000 having previously worked at Kleinwort Benson Private Wealth Management where he managed private client portfolios and also had responsibility for researching the pharmaceuticals and telecoms sectors.

He manages discretionary private client investment portfolios, together with a number of charities, city livery companies, personal pension schemes and bespoke unit trusts for large family groups, often within complex trust structures.  

Tim is a member of the Rathbones Investment Executive Committee which has responsibility for the investment process, its monitoring and ongoing development. He is also a member of the Collective Funds Investment Committee, which has responsibility for the research, selection and ongoing monitoring of “best-of-breed” funds for the group.

On graduating with an honours degree majoring in Economics, Tim was commissioned from Sandhurst into The Blackwatch where he served for 5 years. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

 

Tim Smith

Tim Smith is a director of Rathbone Trust Company Limited, and has worked since 1982 in the fields of estate planning and financial services. He joined Rathbones in 2000, having previously worked in the City.  He has been a Chartered Tax Adviser since 1986, and is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Tim West is an investment director, graduating from Durham University where he studied classics. He joined Rathbones in 1997 as an assistant fund manager after a career as a school master. He became an associate director in 2001 and in August 2005 an investment director. He manages private client portfolios, pension funds and charities, and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. Tim sits on the Rathbone Collective funds committee, with responsibility for researching Private Equity and UK Smaller companies. In addition he advises the Strategic Asset Allocation Committee on Private Equity.

Tim Woodhead

Tim Woodhead is an Investment Director and leads one of the four investment teams based in Liverpool. 

Tim started his investment career over 20 years ago initially with Neilson Cobbold which was acquired by Rathbones in 1996. Prior to this Tim served 8 years in the Army with the  9th/12th Royal Lancers.

Tim is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment  He manages a wide variety of client portfolios including private clients, trusts, pension funds and charitable trusts on a segregated basis. Tim has been a member of the group Stock Selection Committee since 2002 and Chairman of Trustees for the Rathbone pension scheme since 2006, he is also involved with the Financial Advisor Specialist Group.

Tom Lovell

Tom is an investment director with Rathbone Investment Management International and is a Chartered Wealth Manager. He manages a range of private client, trust and charity portfolios and sits on the Rathbones Jersey Investment Committee. Tom joined Rathbones in May 2007 and has over 14 years’ experience specialising in the offshore finance industry. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI). 

Tom Smyth

Tom is a Chartered Fellow of the Securities and Investment Institute and a Chartered Wealth Manager. He is part of the team that transferred to Rathbones from Deutsche Bank in May 2014 and before Deutsche Bank Tom was a Private Client Manager at Brown Shipley.

As an Investment Director Tom manages portfolios for Private Clients, Pension funds, Charities and Trusts. Tom holds a MSc in Industrial Relations from Manchester Business School and a BSc in Management Studies from the University of Manchester (UMIST).

Tony Milner

Tony Milner is an investment director. He started his career in stock broking with Allied Provincial in 1987 and over a number of years worked in their Leeds, Lymington and Kendal offices before returning to Lymington to join Brewin Dolphin in 1998 where he became a Divisional Director. He joined Rathbones in September 2012.

He specialises in managing portfolios for private individuals, trusts and pension funds and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Tony has over 25 years experience of catering for the investment needs of high net worth individuals and family trusts. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Commencing his career in 1986 with Smith Keen & Cutler stockbrokers, Tony has continued to manage beneficial long-term client and intermediary relationships and specialises in providing and managing bespoke investment solutions for Self Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs)/SSASs, offshore bonds, equity, bond and collective portfolios for private clients, trustees and charities.

Tony Webster

Tony has over 26 years experience in the industry. Having studied Quantity Surveying in Liverpool, Tony then spent  18 months  with Neilson Milnes, a Liverpool Stockbroker which subsequently became Neilson Cobbold, before being taken over by Rathbones. He first joined Rathbones, before the takeover, in June 1988 and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Tony looks after a broad range of private client portfolios as well as self-invested personal pension plans, small company portfolios and a number of trusts.

Trevor Bell

Trevor Bell is an investment director, specialising in investment management for private clients, trusts, charities and personal pension funds (SIPPs) he has a particular interest in researching smaller, dynamic growth companies.

Trevor is a fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. After graduating from university he trained as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand before joining A H Cobbold & Co in 1983. He has therefore worked for Rathbones and its predecessors for over 28 years.

Vaughan Rimeur is a director of Rathbone Investment Management International having joined the company in January 2008, he manages a range of private client and trust portfolios for local and overseas clients and sits on the investment committee. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Victoria Hoskins

Victoria is an Investment Director with over 15 years experience in providing and managing investment solutions to Charity and Pension Fund trustees, as well as to individuals including those with bespoke or complex investment requirements. 

Victoria is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI and an experienced Trustee, principally for the LankellyChase Foundation, an early adopter of the UNPRI, latterly chairing the Investment Committee. 

Victoria joined Rathbone Greenbank in 2015 from Barclays where she was Senior Director for the London Charity Team advising boards on the implementation of their investment policies, including ethical and social investment considerations.  From 2007- 2010, Victoria was Regional Investment Director for London and the South East responsible for the Gerrard Investment Management business, equating to £2 billion of Private Client, Charity, Pension and Court of Protection portfolios. Victoria began her city career with Capel Cure Myers in 1998, following a successful career in Opera and Musical Theatre.

Victoria is an assistant investment manager on the charity team at Rathbones. She joined Rathbones in 2008 following completion of her BA (Hons) degree in Business Studies from the University of Liverpool. Prior to joining the charity team in 2016, she was the assistant manager for Performance Measurement.

Victoria is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI) having achieved the CISI level 7 Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification in 2014.

Victoria is Head of Sales Desk. She works alongside Andrew Austin in developing relationships with the third-party market, with responsibility for fund platforms, wraps, and life companies, as well as the underlying IFA community, which now increasingly rely on these platforms. Her focus is on the South. 

Victoria joined Rathbones in April 2001 from Deutsche Bank, where she worked as an assistant for the investment banking team.

She holds the Investment Management Certificate.

Will Kendall

Will Kendall is an investment director responsible for managing portfolios for private clients, personal pension funds, trusts and charities. Will graduated from Keble College, Oxford in 1996 with an honours degree in modern history.  His qualifications include the Securities Institute Diploma, and he is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. After spending nine years as a professional cricketer with Hampshire County Cricket Club, he joined Rathbones in 2005.

Will Mcintosh-Whyte

Will Mcintosh-Whyte is the assistant fund manager, supporting David in managing the Rathbone Multi-Asset Portfolios, as well as the Rathbones Managed Portfolio Service (MPS). Will is a CFA charterholder and is Chair of the Rathbones Fixed Income Funds Committee. He has been with the business for the past decade, and prior to joining us was a specialist researcher for Theisen Securities, having graduated from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in 2006.

Will Roberts

Will graduated from the University of Bristol with a BSc in economics and politics. He started his career at BWD Rensburg in Liverpool in 2000 until he left to join UBS in London six years later. After three years in the capital he returned to Liverpool with Charles Stanley before joining Rathbones.

He is a Fellow of the CISI which gives him FCSI status and he is also a Chartered Wealth Manager. Over his career he has managed the investments of private clients, trusts and charities within a variety of investment wrappers.

 

William Day

William Day graduated from Manchester University with a 2:1 degree in History, and started his career at Douglas Deakin Young (now part of Duncan Lawrie) in 2000.

William joined Rathbones in September 2014 from Jupiter Asset Management, having also previously worked at Bestinvest – throughout his career he has managed portfolios for a wide variety of families, individual clients, pension funds and charities, and spends much of his time working with Independent Financial Advisers and on behalf of their clients.

William is a Chartered Member of the CISI (MCSI).

William assists Ian Stewart and Matt Hawkins, with advising individuals, companies and professional partnerships on many aspects of financial planning, including pensions, inheritance tax and trusts. 

William joined the financial services industry in 2015; he is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute and is currently pursuing Chartered Financial Planner status. He also holds a 2:1 in Business Economics (BSc Econ) from Cardiff University.
