Michael Hanna

Michael is an assistant investment manager supporting Peter Thomson and Jason Toole with discretionary portfolio management, investment selection and client relationships. The team specialises in domestic, RIMI and SEC private clients, pension schemes and trusts.

He holds a BSc Honours in Economics from Brunel University and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment having completed his Investment Advice Diploma. Michael is currently studying towards becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Michael is an investment director and manages investment portfolios for a broad client base ranging from individuals and families to trusts and institutions. 

Michael graduated from Aberdeen University with a degree in Economics and Accountancy. He then spent five years with Ernst & Young during which time he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He joined Speirs & Jeffrey in 1993 becoming a director of the firm in 1999 up until the point Speirs & Jeffrey was fully integrated with Rathbones in July 2019.

Michael has a background in research and institutional stockbroking. Away from the office he enjoys his family life and a variety of different sports.

Mike is a senior financial planner, joining Rathbones in 2017 from Lloyds Bank Private Clients. Mike has over 30 years’ experience working in the financial services industry. He is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society who specialises in providing holistic financial planning to high net worth individuals.

Mike is chief executive officer of Rathbone Unit Trust Management, joining in February 2010. With over 25 years’ experience, Mike joined from Hermes Fund Managers where he was head of business development. Previous roles include chief executive officer of Invesco Perpetual, prior to which he was managing director of the Retail division of GT Global Asset Management and sales & marketing director of Prolific Financial Management.

Miles is a trainee investment manager in the investment management team at Rathbones. Having graduated from the University of Exeter, where he studied business management, Miles joined Rathbones in 2018. He spent time in the anti-money laundering department, working on a regulatory project, before joining the trainee programme in September 2019. 

Miles is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI) having achieved CISI level 4 Investment Advice Diploma (Securities) at the beginning of 2020.

Myles graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2015 with a first class honours degree in International Business and has a keen interest in financial planning and investment management.

He joined Rathbones in 2018 after completing the Diploma in Financial Planning with the Personal Finance Society (CII) in a role where he was advising business clients on group schemes and various protection products.

Myles is now working towards Chartered Financial Planner status. He currently assists Mike Hunter and Andy Stevenson with formulating advice and client meetings.

Naomi Morris

Naomi is an investment sales consultant working alongside Ben Johnson; and is responsible for client relationships and sales within the South West of England, South Wales and the Channel Islands. Before becoming a sales consultant, Naomi was an investment sales administrator at Rathbones where she was responsible for assisting the sales team and managing internal relationships with the marketing team.

Naomi joined Rathbones in April 2016 having graduated with a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Sheffield. She holds the Investment Management Certificate.

Natalie Rizzi

Natalie is an investment director and has been managing funds for private clients and trustees since 1993. She joined Rathbones in July 2000 from Close Brothers where she was director of Private Asset Management (formerly Rea Brothers). She spent most of her career at Rea Brothers starting off in foreign exchange and moving to the investment management department in 1989. Natalie passed her General Registered Representative exam in 1989 and has been a Diploma Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment since 1993.

Natalie joined Rathbones in 2020 as head of business development, charities, following her previous role as business development manager at Brewin Dolphin. Natalie has also worked at Heartwood Investment Management and specialises in charities, trust and other not-for-profit organisations.

Natalie is a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI) and Chartered Management Institute (CMI). She holds a Masters degree in Drama and Movement Therapy and achieved the Investment Management Certificate in 2016, she is currently studying towards an MBA at Cranfield Business School.

Natalya is an assistant investment manager in our Exeter office supporting the team in the management of private client, trust, company and charity investment portfolios. She works closely with a number of professional advisers providing reliable and accurate assistance on behalf of their clients.

Natalya holds the Investment Advice Diploma and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. She joined Rathbones in 2008.

Natasha joined Rathbones in July 2017.  Prior to joining Rathbones, she worked at Amundi Asset Management as an institutional client associate responsible for looking after large corporates, local authorities and pension funds in UK and Ireland. 

Natasha graduated with a 2:1 (Hons) degree in Business Management from Queen Mary, University of London in 2012. 

Natasha works as a client service executive for two investment directors, James Blosse-Lynch and David Parsons. She manages the administration for the team, covering a variety of private clients, trusts, charities and pensions.

Nathan Darby

Nathan manages bespoke discretionary portfolios for charities, private client, trusts, pension funds, offshore bonds and corporate clients. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment. Nathan works with many local and national solicitors, accountants and financial advisors. He regularly presents at charity and investment seminars, with some of these leading firms. Nathan sits on the regional Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment Committee, which represents local members at a national level.

Nathan has worked as an investment manager since 1994, starting his career at Albert .E. Sharp. Following a takeover by Old Mutual Nathan moved to Quilter, where he worked for 13 years, latterly holding the position of vice president. He was the regional charity specialist, sitting on the Quilter Charities Committee and managing a number of the company’s largest charity accounts. Nathan joined Rathbones at the start of 2013 as an investment director in the Birmingham office.

Ned Fox

Ned joined Rathbones in 2020, having started his career at Smith & Williamson in 2009 where he managed a range of private client, pension and trust portfolios. He was the firm’s specialist on the UK banks sector, as well as leading collective research into UK equity and alternative credit funds.

Ned graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2009, and is a CFA charterholder and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Nehal Desai

Nehal started her career in 2008 at EFG Private Bank Limited, before moving to Rathbones in 2010. Nehal worked in compliance where she gained valuable experience conducting investment manager portfolio reviews and implementing regulatory changes.

Nehal transferred into investment management as an assistant investment manager in 2014.

Nehal graduated from City University in 2007 with an honours degree in Law. She is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments. She has also obtained the Investment Management Certificate, Diploma in Investment Compliance and Masters in Wealth Management.

Nehal works in a team assisting in the management portfolios for individuals, family groups and their associated trusts, charities and pension funds.

Neil Kerry

Neil is an associate sales director responsible for client relationships and sales in the North of England. He joined Rathbones in November 2014, after nearly 10 years at Fidelity Worldwide Investment. Previously Neil worked at Rothschild Asset Management and has over 20 years' experience in sales.

Neil previously worked for UBS Investment Bank in the USA prior to joining their Wealth Management office in Newcastle as an investment assistant in 2008.

He graduated from Northumbria University with a degree in Economics and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI), holding the CISI Masters in Wealth Management qualification.

Neil is part of the team that specialises in the management of private clients, charities, trusts and pension funds.

Neil is an investment director and has more than 20 years of investment experience. Neil started his career at Rathbones in 1998, before joining Tilney in 2000 and then Cazenove in 2002, where he spent nearly 17 years.

Neil is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. Neil manages discretionary investment portfolios for private clients, pensions, trusts, and charities, working with clients and their advisers.

Nicholas Elliott

Nicholas is an associate director and is a key point of contact for IFAs, brokers and DFM clients. He focuses on London and the Isle of Man.

Before joining Rathbones in March 2012, Nicholas worked within Baker Tilly’s Mergers’ and Acquisitions team and Datamonitor’s Financial Services.

Nicholas holds a BSc (Hons) in Business Administration from the University of Bath. He holds the Investment Management Certificate, and is a candidate for the CFA.

Nicholas joined Rathbones in April 2016 from HSBC where he had spent the last 28 years working in the Discretionary Wealth Management division. He graduated from the University of Southampton in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in Politics and International Studies. 

Nicholas is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and attained the CISI Diploma qualification in 1990.  He is an extremely experienced investment professional specialising in the management of multi asset investment portfolios for private investors, their pensions, trusts and charities.

Nicholas joined Rathbones in 2019 from WH Ireland. He read history at King’s College, London graduating with a first class honours degree in 2017. Nicholas assists Robert Hughes-Penney and James Ward in the management of private client, charitable and institutional portfolios. He holds the CFA’s Investment Management Certificate.

Nicholas is also apprenticed to the Merchant Taylors’ Company, and has assisted their Charities Committee in making grants to organisations across London.

Nicholas joined Rathbones in 2011 and, after an period working alongside other managers, he is now part of a larger team headed by Tim Hubbard.

He graduated from Cambridge with an MA in Natural Sciences and started working life at Price Waterhouse, before moving to James Capel in 1986 and Smith & Williamson until 1995. He then moved to Taylor Young Investment Management Ltd (TYIM), a firm started by his father in 1986.

He worked at TYIM for 17 years, as a fund manager and analyst, and latterly as a director and member of the Executive Committee. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and a Chartered Wealth Manager.

He is married with two children and lives in Kent.

Nick Cliffe

Nick graduated with a BA in History from Cardiff University in 2002 and is a Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute. 

He started his financial career with Barclays Wealth in London before moving to HSBC Global Asset Management in 2010, where he managed discretionary investment portfolios for a range of individuals, companies and charities. 

Prior to joining Rathbones in Bristol, Nick moved to Close Brothers in 2015, where he was part of a team managing £450m of assets on behalf of a variety of private clients, trusts and self-invested personal pensions. 

Nick is a holder of the Private Client Investment Advice and Management qualification, the Investment Management Certificate and the Certificate in Financial Planning.

Nick is an investment director, responsible for the management of private client portfolios and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. He joined Rathbones in 2001 from JPMorgan Fleming where he was a director of Fleming Private Asset Management. He became a member of the Stock Exchange in 1986 with Montagu, Loebl, Stanley.

Nick Liddle

Nick is an investment director with responsibility for the bespoke investment management of portfolios for private clients and their trusts, self invested personal pensions (SIPPs) and charities. He has over 25 years' investment experience having started his financial career with the Edinburgh stockbrokers, Bell Lawrie, subsequently Brewin Dolphin, where he rose to become a divisional director. His responsibilities there included being a trustee of both the Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution company pension schemes and also a founding member of the Asset Allocation Committee. 

Nick Roe-Ely

Nick began his investment career after university in 1981 with Tilney & Co, in Liverpool, where he spent 24 years. He joined Rathbones in 2011 after spending time as head of asset management with an investment boutique and with J O Hambro Capital Management in London.

Having graduated with honours in History from the University of Cambridge he  was elected a member of the London Stock Exchange in 1986. Nick is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Although Nick specialises in the management of private clients, trusts, pensions and charities he is also an experienced US and global equities fund manager, and contributes to the Rathbone investment process being a member of the International Equities Committee. Additionally, he is a member of Rathbones IFA specialist group.

Nick lives in the Wirral, and when not keeping tabs on two teenagers tries to pursue his interests in sport, history, gardening and DIY.

Nick Swales

Nick started his career at Wise Speke, however, before joining Rathbones, he spent eight years at UBS where he became an executive director and head of the Newcastle office.

As well as gaining a degree from Newcastle University, Nick holds the Chartered Institute for Securities (CISI)  Diploma and is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI. Nick is also a board director of the CISI. In addition, he also holds the Financial Planning Certificate (FPC) 1,2 & 3.

Nick has significant experience in managing private client, trust, offshore, pension fund and charity portfolios.

He is chairman of the Percy Hedley Foundation, a large charity in the North East of England providing educational, vocational and residential care opportunities for disabled people; a trustee of both the Newcastle University Retirement Benefit Fund and the University’s Development Trust.

Nicola is an investment director with over 20 years' experience in managing bespoke portfolios for private clients, charities and pensions. Nicola has a BSc (Hons) in Economics and an MSc in Corporate Governance and Ethics. She is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Nicola joined Rathbone Greenbank in August 2006 from Gerrard Investment Management Limited where she was head of the Ethical division for six years. Prior to this she spent 12 years as an investment manager at HSBC Investment Management, formerly James Capel.

Nicola is a client service executive for James Mayes and James Campbell-Grey, having worked at Rathbones for five years, and has responsibility in her cloud for coordinating marketing events. She is also a mental health first aider and a member of the company’s Diversity Committee. She previously managed a team in the research distribution department at Barclays Capital and worked in marketing at several institutional asset managers, including Deutsche Morgan Grenfell. She studied Italian and Classical History at Leeds University, and is fluent in Italian.

Nigel Reynoldson

Nigel began his career in the City in 1974, moving into financial services sector in 1977 with stockbrokers Strauss Turnbull. In 1986 he became a member of the London Stock Exchange.

During the 1990’s he worked for Societe Generale Investment Management, which was acquired by Tilney Investment Management in 2003. Tilney was acquired by The Deutsche Bank in 2007. He joined Rathbone Investment Management in June 2014.

Nik is an investment director with 20 years’ experience in financial services. He joined Rathbones as an investment director in 2018 and manages discretionary investment portfolios for private individuals, trusts, charities and pension funds within a longstanding team.

Nik graduated with a degree in European Business Studies from Middlesex University in 1996 and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

He started his career at Merrill Lynch in 1997 moving to Julius Baer in 2012 when they acquired Merrill’s international business.
