Personal injury and Court of Protection

Investing with care. For long-term security.

Rathbones’ dedicated personal injury (PI) and Court of Protection (COP) team believes it is essential to work closely with clients, deputies, trustees and families to help meet their current and future needs.

Our approach to investment and advice in this area is built on a solid foundation of experience and expertise.

We take time to meet with clients, their families and professional advisers to understand their circumstances, needs and objectives. It’s our belief that only by listening to and truly understanding our clients can we create strategies to help meet their long term plans and requirements.

Our team has over 100 years’ combined experience and over this time we’ve built strong relationships with professionals in this area. If matters need resolving outside the scope of investments, we can bring the expertise of this network to offer additional support. We are trusted to manage over £1 billion of personal injury settlements, making us one of the leading specialist investment managers in the UK.

I am part of the portfolio management team where I am responsible for constructing, maintaining, and optimising our multi-asset strategies to serve all of our clients with their specific needs and goals through all weathers of the economy. Specifically, I am part of the investment process where I provide analytics and visuals to inform members of the investment committees about portfolio performance and positioning. This dynamic approach iterating with our strategists, asset class specialists, and investment managers allows us to embed our deep research capabilities front and centre in our portfolios to provide a high-touch service to clients. I also work closely with members of the strategy team on projects with a specific focus on data analysis, data integration and digital wealth management.

I am the Stewardship Manager and work towards ensuring Rathbones is being an active owner of clients' capital. I engage with investments and votes at meetings, to exercise Rathbones' right and responsibility to encourage positive change in its investments. This may relate to investments' environmental, social or governance practices; the goal is to generate long term value for our clients, and positive outcomes for environment and society. I work closely with the Research Analysts across the team to leverage their expertise. I also work with industry bodies such as the UN PRI and Investor Forum, to engage collaboratively and gain access to companies and policymakers.
